Constellation 08

[There are several piles of snow on the Plane today. There's enough of it to cover a small section of the 'floor' in it, as well as scatterings here and there. Arthur is sitting in the middle of it, dressed appropriately for the cold, at least, with a heavy winter jacket and large snow boots. His cheeks are a bright red, though whether this is because of the cold or the scotch currently being filtered by his body is anyone's guess.

There are tuffs of snow on his hair and clothes, but these are ignored in favor of the drawing in the snow he seems to be working on at the moment. Equations, to be exact]

They did seem to adapt a great deal of his novels to film. For obvious reasons, of course.

[Text: 'Why not?']

[Arthur has turned aback to his equations, though he's still listening]

That should be enough films for now, I think.

[Text: 'The list would be much too long for mobile services. Anyway, since when is this of interest to you?'

He then glances up at Arthur and watches him work as he waits for Handy to text back.]

I should have most of the novels around. You're free to borrow those.

[Text: 'You both obviously like each other and are just being idiots. If you don't ask, I'm going to ask for you.']

That's very nice of you, making a special effort just to give him books. You must think a lot of Arthur to go through all that trouble.

[Watch Arthur's amazing focus come into play as he grins up at the Doctor] I wouldn't mind borrowing a few of them.

[The Doctor pauses to send Arthur a smile.] No trouble at all.

[Then he sends Handy a Look and texts. 'This isn't one of Donna's relationship drama shows.']

[sends the Doctor a Look, and puts his mobile in his pocket]

Arthur, you and the Doctor are going out on a date. You both fancy each other, so just pick a time and place and all that nonsense.

[rubs the back of his neck]

Now then, which film are we starting with? 2001: A Space Odyssey?

[Arthur blinks, and it seems to take him a moment to properly process this] ...we don't have merging points in our realities, though. Where would we go?

[The Doctor blinks, then pauses to slip the mobile into his jacket.

He's blaming Donna.

He's also going to ADD! Discreetly. Because 'AHHHH topic is scary.']

Point. And 2001: A Space Odyssey would be good to start with, yes.

Well you have the entire Plane. There's a cinema, ballroom, beach, all sorts of places you two could go. And apart from that, you're both actively working on merging, so realities shouldn't be that much of an issue for too long.

Speaking of the cinema, I suppose we could watch it over there. It's best on the big screen, I think. Still we should stop by the kitchen first for popcorn.

Oh, are we going to watch now?

[to the Doctor] Feel free to pick what you prefer.

[Slightly lost in the conversation but he nods, deciding it best to just get over this part fast as he can and then glare at Handy in private later.]

Right, yes, well! Whenever he'd like, I suppose.

I think you two should avoid the beach. I can't stand beaches. Maybe a trip to the cinema tomorrow night, perhaps?

And I'm ready to watch now if you two are.

[pushes himself to a stand and brushes the snow off his trousers]

[Arthur stands as well, taking one last look at the equations before walking off the patch of snow. Once he steps unto the 'floor' of the Plane, he can't help but pause and look back.

Then, with a mental shrug he unzips the jacket and throws it back on the snow, taking a moment to pull of his boots and placing them by the jacket as well. Content, he begins to head towards the cinema]

[The Doctor follows them off the snow, digging into his pocket for the mobile as he does. He flips it open again and sends a quick text. 'Why did you do that and why isn't Arthur surprised that you did?'

Note that he doesn't brush off the snow.]

Do we actually have the film we need though?

[pulls his mobile back out. Text: 'You two both like each other and you're both too thick to do anything about it yourselves.'

Stops mid-walk]

You have a copy of it on your TARDIS, don't you?

[Arthur pauses as well, looking between them curiously. He also can't help glancing at the Doctor's phone, mostly because he's tempted to ask to borrow it again]

[Text: 'And so you've been having chats about this?'

The Doctor glances up at Arthur, a bit surprised that he's looking. He tries not to cover the mobile because that seems rude.]

Hm? Oh, yes, I should somewhere. [Shakes his head and thinks.] In one of the film rooms. What sort of cinema is it? Reels?

[Text: 'Oh stop that.']

Well go on and get it, then. And I think it is reels, yes.

[He glances back up at the Doctor] Will reels be a problem?

[Text: 'Stop what? This is just a bit awkward.']

Oh, no, I have a lot of things on the TARDIS. Should have that, too. Just a tick.

[He hesitates before dropping to look for the film.]

[Text: 'How is it awkward? Arthur seems up for the idea.'

Watches the Doctor drop and then turns to Arthur]

I told you he liked you. Now that wasn't so horrible, was it?

Well, I'm not sure it counts. He didn't ask, you did.

Well he wanted to, he just wasn't sure how to go about it, and if I left it up to the two of you nothing would've ever gotten done.

[head tilt, curiously] Why is it important to you what happens between the Doctor and me?
