[this is Lucy. this is Lucy sitting quietly off to some random side of the Plane, resting in a wide, comfy chair, legs tucked beneath her and reading a book. what book? a random one she snatched from the TARDIS library that gives some (very) truncated history on Gallifrey. why? because her husband has currently gone a mite bonkers and thinks himself someone else. it really, really sucks. so she's doing some reading and hoping to find some answers.

Actually, I have no reason to do anything with either of them. Except now, figuring out what's happened to them.

Harry isn't being controlled. He can't be. You've done something to him, that's all it is. So why won't you just give him back?

Are you trying to imply that I'm more powerful than the Master?

Of course not! But I know how much you [and she waves a dismissive hand] matter to him. You could have done something to him. [and yes, she knows this is ridiculous, but the Twins being more powerful than the Master scares her and this is easier to deal with]

He doesn't matter to me.

[the cruelty of that comment even makes the Doctor wince a little]

[and she actually does flinch -- before reaching out to slap him] I don't need you. I never needed you. So just give me back my husband!

[catches her wrist before she can slap him] I'd love to, Mrs. Saxon, because then he can keep you occupied.

You approached me! I wasn't bothering you! Don't you dare talk to me like that!

I just had to make sure that it was him! There are so many doubles wandering around here, I wasn't about to start interrogating someone who actually is Rassilon!

What does that even matter?

Do you have any idea who Rassilon is? He's not the sort of bloke you want to pick a fight with. Well, not unless you've got an arsenal of Anti-Time on you.

No, I-- [cuts herself off, looking down at the book she left on her chair when she moved to slap him. hi, Ten, you get a moment of weakness] I just know he doesn't recognise me. He's Harry but he doesn't know that and he doesn't know me.

[and have a moment of relenting, where he takes a step back]

I'll figure out what's happening to him.

[aaaand the walls come back up. have a bitter laugh]

Of course you will. You'll find the problem and fix it, won't you? Because you always have to fix everything, don't you, Doctor?

Who's to say you won't just make it worse?

I could just walk away. After all, you were taking such good care of it yourself.

[glances at book]

Is that the abridged version? Does it have pictures?

You aren't capable of walking away.

[glares at him]

Don't patronise me, Doctor. At least I'm smart enough to know how to read. I'm certain that's quite a few steps higher than some of your previous companions.

[unimpressed]

My previous companions? Well, maybe a few of them didn't have writing down, time periods and all that, but they knew a little about loyalty.

Which is why you're still here.

[aaaand she doesn't look at him, because her expression might give her away]

Did they, now? So I suppose loyalty only matters when it's to you?

I haven't got the last word, yet. Not leaving until then.
