(no subject)

[this is Lucy. this is Lucy sitting quietly off to some random side of the Plane, resting in a wide, comfy chair, legs tucked beneath her and reading a book. what book? a random one she snatched from the TARDIS library that gives some (very) truncated history on Gallifrey. why? because her husband has currently gone a mite bonkers and thinks himself someone else. it really, really sucks. so she's doing some reading and hoping to find some answers.

hopefully]

[momentary amusement]

Are you trying to imply that I'm more powerful than the Master?

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
He doesn't matter to me.

[this is an awesome, poorly-delivered lie]

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose that shows where you sit on the level of importance to me.

[the cruelty of that comment even makes the Doctor wince a little]

[catches her wrist before she can slap him] I'd love to, Mrs. Saxon, because then he can keep you occupied.

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
I just had to make sure that it was him! There are so many doubles wandering around here, I wasn't about to start interrogating someone who actually is Rassilon!

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Do you have any idea who Rassilon is? He's not the sort of bloke you want to pick a fight with. Well, not unless you've got an arsenal of Anti-Time on you.

[and have a moment of relenting, where he takes a step back]

I'll figure out what's happening to him.

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
I could just walk away. After all, you were taking such good care of it yourself.

[glances at book]

Is that the abridged version? Does it have pictures?

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I am.

[unimpressed]

My previous companions? Well, maybe a few of them didn't have writing down, time periods and all that, but they knew a little about loyalty.

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't got the last word, yet. Not leaving until then.

[and because he's probably not going to walk away. Buuuut we'll let him believe otherwise]

You don't know anything about loyalty, Lucy. Not to me, not to him, and certainly not to yourself.

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
[irritation crosses his face as he realizes he's let that slip]

I thought I knew you. Obviously I was wrong. It's not often I admit to being wrong. But you, Mrs. Lucy Saxon, you proved me very, very wrong.

[beat]

I think we can help them. The Doctor and the Master----Rassilon and Omega, whoever they are.

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, we both know I'm brilliant, but you certainly surpassed me that time. All the things I thought were true. Funny little ideas that just slipped away. No, no, more stabbed away. But, still, same idea.

Because, you want to help him. And you can't do it alone.

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[expression is blank, but he's fuming] Well, I hope you'll forgive my trusting nature.

Well, some of my companions can't read, but they're at least intelligent enough to know that they should despise the Master. I need someone so blindingly devoted as yourself to help.
