[Hiccup is unusually serious today. He has a few bruises on his face, and he looks a bit more tired than usual. He's sitting on the Astral floor, with drawings around him. The pictures are about a huge, blue dragon, surrounded by arrows and side notes. It almost looks like a battle plan.]

Wish I'd seen if he could fly or not... [Hiccup mutters, biting his lower lip.]

[Hiccup jumps a little at the sudden voice, and looks at Gwen.]

Oh, uh... yyyyes. Yes, it could be called that, but I say it's more like a suicide plan... [Laughs nervously, but then his expression goes worried.] I must be prepared, Gwen...

[Hiccup rubs the back of his head as he speaks. He tries to sound casual, but it's clear he's extremely worried about this.] Dad took Toothless... Annnnd now they are on their way to the dragon's nest... annnd... we'll go after them, with the others. And stop them. But that might include dealing with a... uh, well this thing, so I should be prepared to the scenario if we won't get there in time.

Trouble, Oliver. Or another of those 'end of the world' moments. Just the usual... [Hiccup sighs, scratching the back of his head.] My father took Toothless... and they're going to be in huge mess soon, annnd I'm going to help them... Or try and help them and die together with them.

[Oliver stares] Wait, what!? What do you mean your father's got Toothless? What sort of mess!?

I was in the arena, you know. I supposed to kill a Monstrous Nightmare, but I thought it's a good chance to show that if the aren't provoked they're friendly.

But he was more nervous than me, and of course it didn't go well. If it's not for Toothless we wouldn't talk about it right now. He just appeared in the arena like that! He knew I was in trouble, Oliver... I-I... This is so... [Sighs.] And I let him be captured and used as a- a- a- compass or what's that!

Dad wasn't listening when I tried to tell him there is something more dangerous on that island... [Shows one of the pictures of the dragon to Oliver.] I'm not a part of the tribe anymore, but I... am going after them and help them.

[for a moment, Oliver is stunned to silence] That's... [he swallows hard, very worried for his friend--his friends] All right, what can we do? How do we help?

[Eithan is nosy!]

Whoa. What happened, man? You look kinda beat-up... [He blinks down at the pictures.] What's up?

Oh it's nothing, Eithan, really. It's just when I tried to show the others that dragons are harmless, there was a little accident, and it looked like they aren't harmless at all... Toothless protected me, so now he's captured, and they're using him to show the nest of the dragons. Dad wasn't even listening to me, that it's dangerous. But really, why would he, I'm not his son anymore. [Hiccup's tone trying to be casual, but it's clear that it's hard on him.]

So I'm going to... try and... help them to not to get killed...

Not his...? Wait, hold on, back up. The fuck? How do you just stop bein' someone's son? Unless... [Disowned..?] ... Oh. ... Man. I'm sorry.

That all... sounds like a real mess. Is it gonna be okay? I mean, do you need help or somethin'?

[Hiccup just bites in his lips. If he's not thinking about the disowning then it's not that painful.] No, no it's... somehow I feel a bit lighter. You know...? I don't have anyone I have to prove anymore.

I don't want to take more people than necessary, it'll be dangerous, Eithan. Astrid, and the others offered to come with me... Hah, it's funny how I have more friends now than when I was still in the tribe...

[Eithan has a feeling that's only one side of the coin, so to speak, but he doesn't say anything about it. He just nods his understanding.]

I can handle dangerous, man. Trust me. If I can help, just let me know, yeah? [He smiles a bit.] And of course you've got friends. No one wants to see you gettin' hurt.

[ In glancing down at what this drawing is, Sakura can't... figure out what it is there, with the arrows drawn around. Some kind of animal? ]

[Hiccup blinks up at the girl, and excuse his staring, he's just not used to that kind of hair color...] Oh, uh him? This is... it's a dragon. A huge one. I'm not sure it has a proper name yet.

[ She smiles, a beat late realising an introduction off the bat might be more polite. She figures the staring is part manners, part her not recognising the animal. ]

Dragons look like that where you're from?

[ She's curious in spite of herself, if she looks away from the drawings to Hiccup, taking in the bruises and making her own internal assessments of how he looked. ]

My name's Haruno Sakura. [ She offered him a hand, not sure if he did handshakes or not. ] I should have introduced myself before staring in on the questions, I'm sorry.

This one's just a tiny bit bigger than the ones I usually see, and I'm not sure if its color is green or blue, yet, or if it has wings, so... Why, uh, your- your world has dragons too? [Because OH DRAGONS FROM AN OTHER WORLD, HICCUP LIKES. But there goes some shocked silence again, because he's not used to polite ladies like you, Sakura.]

Ohh, uh, hi, I mean my name is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, nice- nice to meet you, Sakura! [Slightly reluctant about the handshake, because it usually ends up him being thrown over someone's shoulder and trampled on... But he takes her hand anyway after a while, shaking is quickly.]

How big is he? It's hard getting a sense of scale when I'm not sure what I'm looking at.

[ She smiles, shaking her head a little. ]

Maybe real ones at one time. These days they're... generated by certain techniques. Water dragons, fire dragons, earth dragons, they're all ninjutsu creations rather than separate thinking creatures.

[ Her smile turns more friendly, hoping to set this guy at ease. All the assumptions she makes! Like his reluctance and brief contact with the handshake being a kind of personal bubble indication that she hopes to respect. ]

It's a bit away from my village, on an island, inside a volcano, surrounded by hundreds of much smaller dragons... This one's their leader or something... He's the reason the dragons were always stole our food and all. [Mutters to himself as he's watching the drawings.]
