[Hiccup is unusually serious today. He has a few bruises on his face, and he looks a bit more tired than usual. He's sitting on the Astral floor, with drawings around him. The pictures are about a huge, blue dragon, surrounded by arrows and side notes. It almost looks like a battle plan.]

Wish I'd seen if he could fly or not... [Hiccup mutters, biting his lower lip.]

That must be it. Maybe if we can get rid of this dragon, the smaller ones going to be peaceful towards us... Actually I just don't want my dad, or Gobber to... get hurt.

[The mention of Hiccup's dad, as well as the desire to keep him from getting hurt, stirs up all kinds of Feelings within John. But he forces those feelings back down as best as he can before giving Hiccup a response.]

It's pretty lucky you're here, then. It gives you plenty of time to come up with a plan.

[He looks back down at the drawing for a moment.]

What is it like, where they live?

Yep, that was the idea... [Hiccup sighs.] It also gives me more time to just freak out! Haha-ha...

[At the question, he snatches a page with a volcano in it.] Roughly, this is how it looks like, we were entering here, in this entrance near the top with Toothless, and inside... [Hiccup quickly takes a piece of coal and sketches how he saw the inside of the volcano.] In the middle, there is the huge dragon, and all around him the other dragons, his herd I guess...

What if all the dragons stayed away for a while? Then the big one would have to leave.

I wish we could have done that earlier. But my dad and the other vikings are heading to that island. They don't know what I know... They're in danger.

Wow, that does sound like a mess. Is there any way you can talk your dad into turning around?

[That seems like the best idea, then at least it would give Hiccup more time to figure out what to do.]

Not anymore. I can't just walk up to him in the middle of the battle going 'Hey, dad you see that is the dragon I wanted to warn you about and you didn't listen, let's talk about it'.

No, no I must act. Talking won't solve anything.

Oh. Yeah, it sounds like it might be difficult to talk to him.

[Unfortunately, John is pretty much out of ideas there, since he doesn't know enough about Hiccup's world.]

Well whatever you plan to do, I'm sure it will work. You're really smart, you'll come up with something.

[Hiccup doesn't have much idea either. He knows he might have to improvise when he gets there. Tough he stares a little at John. It's just it's rare when someone's cheering him on...]

Anyway, your world must be pretty awesome, because dragons! I mean, I have salamanders on my word, and they're ok, but dragons are so much cooler.

I know, right? Though at the beginning they were scary... But then I got to know Toothless. But they're still scary, in an other way. I can't wait to see if we can be friends with them... even if it seems impossible now.

Nothing's impossible if you put your mind to it. I'm sure they're just as scared of you as you are of them. You both just have to get over that scared-ness.

[Hiccup smiles, nodding.] Thank you! I know all of that. Toothless and I started out like that too, it took me a while to get close to him. Now he's my best friend... And I put him in danger too. [He sighs.] So I have to save them. All of them...!

See, you're falling into that trap of being too wound up about stuff. Just keep your cool, or else you'll break everything by worrying too much. If nothing else, you can take a short break here to clear your mind and focus on it later.

[Hiccup bites in his lips.] It's just that I was always worried, all in my life... And if this time's not the time for real worry, then I don't know what is...

Time kinda sorta doesn't work the same here, you can goof off for a couple hours and nobody will know the difference.

[John routinely goes zooming around like a windy asshole because why not?]

Or do I need to drag you off to do something fun?

Eh, uh right now? I need to- I need to make a plan, they need me, I can't just go and have fun while my people might be in danger...! [Slightly neurotic Hiccup appears.]

They're still going to be right where you left them no matter how much time you take here, so come on!

[He'll reach out to try to tug at Hiccup's arm now.]
