{Diva hops onto the Astral Plane, or, at least it looks like her. The hair and eyes are the same, but everything else is completely different. With a much more boyish frame, a younger face, and even being smaller in general, it seemed as if she was wearing someone else's skin.}

Ne, that girl, she must have been bad luck. After all, you brought sister with you into New York! How sad~
But it's kind of nice to see Saya again, even if she's here to kill me and my Chevalier. Ah, last time we saw each other was on that boat, after all. She's probably still angry about that.

{Her hands release what she was holding, and she scatters what seems like glittering, blood red rubies on the invisible ground. Diva crouches down to pick one up again, holding it in between her fingers with a decidedly blank expression.}

But she didn't hesitate this time. It makes sense she'd kill my Chevalier first, but...Well, I guess Karl died the way he wanted to. Ne, but it's getting more dangerous to stay at "home". Would anyone care if I just stayed here for a while? It's really getting to be troublesome to stay at home, even with my Chevalier to protect me. If she can't find me, after all, maybe sister will leave.

{Smiles} What's wrong? {She knows why, but she really doesn't want to get cornered into telling the truth}

I really look that different? {It's an instantaneous change, and if he blinked, he'd probably miss it completely, but Diva changed back to normal with a smile}

[he's a moment in coming to terms with this - relatively normal person, remember - but he does manage to, somewhat, wrap his head around it]

Like with Anastasia?

Right~ But this is someone else. And not all the way! After being Anastasia, I decided I didn't like to change into a person all the way. So I keep parts of what they look like and what I look like. {Nods} It's better that way.

[didorothy]

[nods, and then there is a moment's pause. When he speaks, it is soft, though not weak]

Did someone have to die for this?

[madamemoiselle]

You shouldn't ask if it'll upset you.

[didorothy]

You did kill someone, then.

[madamemoiselle]

A long time ago. {A year is a long time, right?}

[didorothy]

[raises an eyebrow] What's your definition of 'a long time'?

[madamemoiselle]

Hmm...I think it's been a little more than a year.

[didorothy]

[sighs and rubs his forehead] Well, that's not... ['not that bad'? Murder is always bad!] I think I take a giant leap out of my ethical comfort zone when I talk to you, Diva.

[madamemoiselle]

{She looks a surprised, and maybe a little flustered} Really? It's that bad?

[didorothy]

I arrest murderers, you know. Lock them away so they can't hurt any more people. It's part of who I am. And when I can't arrest 'em - like with the Master - I treat them with hostility. Not... not whatever it is I treat you with.

[no, Diva, that didn't answer the question. That's because Sam doesn't know the answer]

Hm, well, when we talked the first time, you really seemed like you would. So I did the same because I figured there's no point in treating someone that doesn't like you nicely...but...{Puts a finger to her chin}

Well, it's not very hostile if you're worried about me when I'm sick. But I'm glad you were worried. I like Sam, so maybe that's the same. Sam must like me.

[didorothy]

I probably shouldn't.

[madamemoiselle]

How mean! You shouldn't say that~ You'll hurt my feelings, Sam.

[didorothy]

[slight smile] I'm sure you can handle it, Diva.

Wait... you mentioned your Chevalier... [pauses, eyes flickering to the 'rubies'] What happened?

[madamemoiselle]

{Her smile sinks into a blank, expressionless stare towards the one in her hand} Saya and I, we're the "pure blooded" Chiropterans. The other ones, our Chevalier and the beast like ones, they can do basically everything that we can. But the two of us, well, our blood is poison to each other. We can't die except at each others hands, really.

If our blood mixes, this is what happens. And since our Chevalier have our blood, then they can be killed by the other Queen's blood too. So once Saya's blood comes into contact with mine...{She clenches her hand, only lightly, but opens her palm again to reveal that stone crumbled}, then it crumbles.

{Long silence} It's Karl.

[didorothy]

The one that used to read to you?

[madamemoiselle]

{Absolutely cold} Used to. He changed so much, well, maybe it's better. It's how he wanted to die anyways.

[didorothy]

[looks at her carefully, trying to read her expression] He was still your friend and Chevalier, wasn't he? I'm sorry.

[madamemoiselle]

{Monotone, more like she's repeating someone else's words} My Chevalier aren't worth anything. They're disposable.

[didorothy]

I don't think you believe that.
