{Diva hops onto the Astral Plane, or, at least it looks like her. The hair and eyes are the same, but everything else is completely different. With a much more boyish frame, a younger face, and even being smaller in general, it seemed as if she was wearing someone else's skin.}

Ne, that girl, she must have been bad luck. After all, you brought sister with you into New York! How sad~
But it's kind of nice to see Saya again, even if she's here to kill me and my Chevalier. Ah, last time we saw each other was on that boat, after all. She's probably still angry about that.

{Her hands release what she was holding, and she scatters what seems like glittering, blood red rubies on the invisible ground. Diva crouches down to pick one up again, holding it in between her fingers with a decidedly blank expression.}

But she didn't hesitate this time. It makes sense she'd kill my Chevalier first, but...Well, I guess Karl died the way he wanted to. Ne, but it's getting more dangerous to stay at "home". Would anyone care if I just stayed here for a while? It's really getting to be troublesome to stay at home, even with my Chevalier to protect me. If she can't find me, after all, maybe sister will leave.

Sh-- [a beat as he translates] Oh. That must've been awful.

I always wanted to learn anothre language. I should've picked up a language class, but. [shrugs] Wasted youth and all.

[madamemoiselle]

{Nods} It was really confusing, since I didn't know enough German then to talk to that person and try and explain it. I think he was really offended. But Solomon told me later, when I asked, at least.

Ah, it's not too late to learn. You should learn French. It's the most beautiful of any of the languages~ Oh, but Latin is very handy with any Romance language. Amshel made me learn that when we were still traveling around Paulliac, since that way I could at least understand some parts of what people might be saying.

[didorothy]

Still unfortunate.

[half-smiles] I don't know if I'd have the time back in my reality to French. Paulliac, that's in France?

[madamemoiselle]

It's near Bordeaux. Not too far, but far enough to not be called Bordeaux wine. It's where Joel's chateau is. Well, was. So I guess you could say it's my hometown, though I don't have many attachments to it. Ne, but the area around Bordeaux and Paulliac, it's absolutely gorgeous. Especially when the grapevines are all full and heavy and ready to be picked. I spent my time in that area after Amshel became my Chevalier, and we just made our way towards Russia, whether I was awake or not.

[didorothy]

Why were you moving towards Russia? I know you were there for the fall of the Imperial family, but I wouldn't think you'd have known that as many years before.

[madamemoiselle]

Amshel wanted to leave Paulliac, I think. It was his home, after all. I think...I think he mentioned that he had a friend there, but I couldn't be sure. I haven't even thought of why since...Well, since we were on our way.

[didorothy]

Hm, all right.

Amshel seems to know a lot, doesn't he? I wonder...

[madamemoiselle]

Amshel is really smart! Ne...He was Joel's assistant, after all. Joel was the one that did the experiments, and Amshel helped sometimes, but most of the time he just did things like feeding and taking care of me once a week or so.

[didorothy]

And then he helped you escape?

[madamemoiselle]

No, that was all Saya. Saya was the one that named me since when I told her I didn't have one, she said that wasn't right. She wanted me to sing at Joel's birthday party. But...Well, I didn't know Joel was named Joel, if that makes sense.

So I just agreed, and Saya was the one that let me out.

[didorothy]

It sounds like the two of you had a better start.

[madamemoiselle]

It was! Saya...she treated me like we were sisters then, you know? Ne, but...

{Pauses uncertainly, but her smile drops into a cold expression as she continues.} But when she left, I didn't know what to do. So I went to the party, recognized Joel, and killed him. And I was...starving. So Saya hates me for that, partially.

[didorothy]

[a flicker of something at the note of murder] You'd suffered at his hands. You couldn't have possibly've been in your right mind when you committed the murder.

Does she know what he did to you?

[madamemoiselle]

Ah, no, it's not as complicated as that. It sounds stupid, but I really didn't know people could die then. I just assumed that everyone was like me. It wasn't like I'd ever seen a human get hurt or...even seen another human other than Joel or Amshel. I wanted him to hurt like I did, but...Well, I didn't know that people died.

...She does. Saya read Joel's diary. She probably knows more than I do.

[didorothy]

..Oh. That's... logical, I suppose.

Mmm, I see.

[madamemoiselle]

{Small, grateful smile}...You think so? Most people just say it's no excuse. Ah, but it's different. There were a lot of things that took me a long time to understand! Stuff like death, life, things like that.

[didorothy]

Life isn't all black and white. There are 'mitigating circumstances,' to use legal terminology. And given everything you've told me, I'm not surprised it took you some time to understand.

[madamemoiselle]

And I'm still learning. Of course, it doesn't help that the world changes so that there's more to learn, but...Well, it's been working alright so far. So I don't have to worry too much about it, I think.

[didorothy]

At least you're still learning. Some people just stop when they think they know all they need to.

[madamemoiselle]

Ah, but I know I don't. I'm always behind, no matter what...So I at least try, because it's harder to...blend in when you don't know what a television is. {And the word television is said very carefully, as if she only recently learned the word}

[didorothy]

[he smiles, because he thinks the way she says it is cute] It's not easy, no. I'd hate to see the Guv trying to fit in in 2006, and he had to go through the same jump you did.

[madamemoiselle]

Hm, I guess it would have been kind of funny if he had switched homes with someone that lived in that time. Ah, but if it had been mine, he wouldn't have liked it. He doesn't seem like someone who would like practicing opera~ {Or...anyone for that matter}

[didorothy]

He got the year 2026, actually. [a beat, and then he laughs] God, no, opera wouldn't be his forte.

[madamemoiselle]

{Laughs with him before she continues} Ah, I missed that! Was he really irritated by that?

[didorothy]

I'm surprised he didn't break every piece of technology he came across. Really, it was well done, for him.
