[so have a Bernice Summerfield, newly arrived and looking around the place, rather unimpressed over all]
Right. So I believe this is the bit where I address whoever it is that may have brought me to...whatever this is here. While it's very flattering to get whisked away on an unexpected holiday to ... a very elaborate [spots a misplaced constellation] very inaccurate, very expansive variety of observatory, I would ask that you kindly instruct me on the how the hell to get out of this place.
[when there is still no answer, Benny falls back into that lovely habit of just talking to thin air]
Really, this isn't any desire to be rude. Normally I would probably love to have a go around this place. Don't think I didn't spot the Coliseum you have set up there as well as that early 20th century cinema. Top-notch, really. As it were though, I am just a bit busy at the moment. Things to do, people to see, all that nonsense.
[pause, and still nothing. Sigh. Benny is starting to feel just a tad irritable now, and it can be heard in her voice, which she is doing her best to keep casual and carefree]
And if the man behind the curtain here turns out to be Anson, well, I will have to hand it to you that you've definitely gone above and beyond what I normally expect of you. So now that this part is over with, you've done the entire disorienting the archaeologist bit, perhaps you could let me know which way to the exit.

I didn't expect you to notice the astrological errors. Well done, Bernice. Well done indeed.

[and she rushes over, setting the tea aside and actually giving him a hug, because...wth? She lets go of him though and actually looks him over]
You look...you look well. You really do look quite good.
[the way she says well makes it sound like it's the most bizarre condition he could possibly find himself in, and she's very clearly thrown by this fact. She backs up a step, putting some more space between them]
no subject
Yes, Bernice. I'm not locked up with Philistine thugs. It does wonders for one's constitution.
[He sets his tea down across from hers.]
You should sit. We have a great deal to discuss.
no subject
[she swallows. This is way too bizarre and quick and unexpected. She feels a little ill and finally sits down]
I think you're actually right. Sitting would be a very good idea. [she looks into the tea almost suspiciously] I would ask if you have something stronger, but I'm not even sure if you're really you or this entire scenario is just someone playing with my mind. And while the courtesy is a really nice touch, and the tea, fantastic, I think I'll have to say thanks but no thanks. [and she pushes the tea back towards Brax]

As it is not intended to be an observatory, I doubt very much that the keepers of this place care for the accuracy of the stars.

...Dad? [she stops short though as she sees this is in fact not her father.] I - I'm sorry. You sounded like someone I know. Well, clearly you had, because who goes about shouting 'Dad' randomly without a reason. A madwoman, probably..
[she pauses, pushing the anxiety down. Snap out of it, Bernice. As she evaluates the situation more, it is very bizarre that someone with her fathers voice would be in this strange place she found herself. She looks at Omega with a fair amount of suspicion]
Yes, right, well now that I have made an absolute fool of myself rambling, we have more than proven you are in no way, shape or form my father. So would you mind saying who you might be and where I've found myself?

Given the number of individuals in the universe, such a phenomena is not unusual. This is the Astral Plane.
no subject
Oh, don't even try that one on me. Yes, maybe the odds are very likely that two people might share similar voices. But what exactly are the odds of stumbling upon someone that just happens to have your dad's exact voice?

But hey, welcome to the Astral Plane! You're joining a whole ton of us who just showed up here one day for no apparent reason. I'm Oliver, by the way. [gives her a friendly wave]
no subject
[sigh, friendly waves are disarming, and she gives a small half resigned but friendly one back] Benny. Would've preferred meeting under better circumstances, but what can you do? Now, a "whole ton" of us show up here mysteriously, is there any particular reason or...is it just like some really bizarre cosmic lottery.
no subject
Nice to meet you, Benny! And I know what you mean. But you've got me there. I guess we're part of some bizarre cosmic experiment, but none of us has the real answers, unfortunately. Just, some people show up on the Plane--some more than once, actually--and others don't.
no subject
Sorry, yes, great to meet you too, Oliver. But would you care to tell me, what sort of bizarre cosmic experiment have I found myself in this time? I would like to at least have an idea what I should be expecting.

I think you'll enjoy it, otherwise. There are bits and pieces from various times and placed, very nice for an archaeologist.
no subject
Will I? Yes, because I do so enjoy being pulled into whatever this is meant to be. I'm sorry, but you said "our hosts." You were brought here as well?
no subject
[wry smile] Well, you may as well make the best of it, hmm? I was brought here some time ago. I try to see it as a unique opportunity.
