[so have a Bernice Summerfield, newly arrived and looking around the place, rather unimpressed over all]
Right. So I believe this is the bit where I address whoever it is that may have brought me to...whatever this is here. While it's very flattering to get whisked away on an unexpected holiday to ... a very elaborate [spots a misplaced constellation] very inaccurate, very expansive variety of observatory, I would ask that you kindly instruct me on the how the hell to get out of this place.
[when there is still no answer, Benny falls back into that lovely habit of just talking to thin air]
Really, this isn't any desire to be rude. Normally I would probably love to have a go around this place. Don't think I didn't spot the Coliseum you have set up there as well as that early 20th century cinema. Top-notch, really. As it were though, I am just a bit busy at the moment. Things to do, people to see, all that nonsense.
[pause, and still nothing. Sigh. Benny is starting to feel just a tad irritable now, and it can be heard in her voice, which she is doing her best to keep casual and carefree]
And if the man behind the curtain here turns out to be Anson, well, I will have to hand it to you that you've definitely gone above and beyond what I normally expect of you. So now that this part is over with, you've done the entire disorienting the archaeologist bit, perhaps you could let me know which way to the exit.

[Or perhaps because Omega's track record re: returning to Gallifrey wasn't exactly pristine. They don't seem to take kindly to you returning when your first attempt involved killing them all.]

But what? Why? I mean...why?

[Of course, of course she would ask that. Omega straightens almost imperceptibly, giving Bernice a sharp look.]
Shall I describe what happens if you have the willpower to survive a black hole? What will happen to your body if you are trapped in a universe of antimatter? My mind was the only thing left to me in that imprisonment.

[she stops, making a face]
...oh, don't tell me this is some bizarre thing you do when you fancy someone, because that is really, just...wow.

No. It was a matter of convenience. The Doctor is a renegade, and the High Council would be less interested in proving his innocence than if I had chosen another Time Lord.

[crosses her arms over her chest]
Tell me, why would you need to frame someone for doing something harmless?

[bitterly] I saved his life, and was repaid with Hedin's death and the Doctor's attempt to kill me.
[It also benefited him to save the Doctor, but she doesn't need to know that~]

Clearly it's only half the story. I'm sure talking to Brax will clear up the bits that you're leaving out quite nicely.

It's absolutely better than taking someone with a blatantly obvious bias at his word.

Everyone is biased, Bernice Summerfield.

You know, for someone who has such an enormous distaste for the Doctor, you really do go on about him a great deal. Are you quite certain I was so off when I asked if you fancied him?
