This place is complete bullshit. Every time I try using this crap 'technology' it up and breaks like the useless junk it is. And if one more bloke tries copping a feel of my arse, I'm locking the whole bloody city up. You hear me, brat? You're whole bloody city, nicked. Don't think I won't.

Ta, Guv. [raises his glass to Gene, and then drinks]

[and the Guv is off. he hasn't had a drink with Tyler like this in a while and he fully intends on getting enormously pissed. unfortunately, a pissed Guv is an annoying Guv and after he's had quite a few glasses, he has one thing to ask] Whatcha mean by love, Tyler?

[Sam's not entirely sober himself, but he's sober enough to be startled by that] ...What?

Said love's taught you to deal with bastards like me. What did you mean? [another drink] Or is that more of your poofter nonsense talking?

... Uhm... [too sober for this; needs more alcohol. Note how he's not looking at Gene anymore] Just more poofter nonsense, Guv.

[nods, swirling his drink around] Right. Course it is. [drinks; wobbles a bit] This is bullshit, Tyler. How the hell are we supposed to protect anything as bloody gooks in a damned school?

We do what we can where we can, with what we have available to us. It's all we ever do.

And in the meantime, a strap of a girl is getting the shit kicked out of her by the druggies I sent her to find.

She and Mu should stay on the plane. When things change back, we'll be able to get out of it.

You think she's gonna actually listen to that, Tyler?

Not with you holding her to whatever you said.

I'm not. She wasn't supposed to go after those bastards in the first place. It was hot air, Tyler. I'm not daft enough to send a skirt into something like that, especially a strip of a girl.

Then tell her that. I don't know what you said, but she doesn't want to back down from it. She thinks you mean it. Tell her it's off.

And have her think I'm backing down? I don't think so. Just tell her to keep her bum out of trouble.

I'm not gonna let the girlie die, Tyler. I'm not that stupid. [frowns, swirling about his whisky] She listens to you, anyway. You tell her.

I'll do a lot of things for you, Guv, but I'm not going to call off your deals for you. Or are you too afraid to back down?

I am not afraid, and don't you dare say otherwise.

Then man up and call it off.

[stares at him, silent a long time, then runs a hand over his face] Fuck. [takes a long drink, swaying some more] Fine. I'll tell the brat to stop. I don't need anymore blood on my hands.

Good. [tops off Gene's glass]

I shouldn't get drunk. I get tired when I'm hammered. [a pause] And if I don't get tired, back things happen. [pushes his own glass a bit away, but doesn't move to get up]

[casually pushes his glance back at him and tops it off] Nothing bad happens when you get pissed, Tyler. You might miss the loo, but that's about as bad as it gets. You're not quitting on me now. I'm not pissed enough. I can still tell if I'm seeing straight or not.

[takes a very small sip] There's a list of stupid things I've done while drunk - which I don't intend on reciting, by the way - and I don't want to add to it. As is, taking a kip on your shoulder is the least stupid thing I'd do if I got pissed now.

You take a kip on me and you'll wake up with a broken nose. [frowns, staring at his drink] What's the most stupid thing you'd do? You've got me curious.

Dunno. I could... wander off, find the Master, and accidentally end up in his loving ownership. ...Though, he'd probably pawn me off to the one Doctor. So maybe it's not that stupid. [tilts his head to the side] I might get Diva really angry, and she could torture me to death. [tilts his head to the other side] Doing stupid things here seems more dangerous than it is back home.
