[Deadpool appears on the Plane at attention, saluting with his right hand. He's a little worse for wear. He's got a lot of cuts and bullet holes throughout his body, but even more in his clothes as the bullet wounds begin to heal. He lowers his hand and relaxes.]

OK, I guess now's a good time to take a breather after that unbelievable success.

[Success? What are you talking about? You just defected!]

[Well that's what he said to the Skrulls. Trust me, it's all part of the plan.]

[Right, and I guess getting schooled by a Super-Skrull was part of the plan too?]

[I scare me. And what makes you think the Skrulls will even let you defect? You just maimed some of their best soldiers and held a ranking officer at gunpoint!]

[Even so, I have a bad feeling about this. Can we stay here for a while?]

[If I knew our plan was to fight an entire platoon of Skrulls head on and then give up at the very end, I probably wouldn't have been so eager. I still don't like this place, it's just... mildly more tolerable than the alternative.]

[Deadpool starts pacing and proceeds to pick out bullets to aid the healing factor while whistling "Put the Lime in the Coconut"]

Mm. I just don't like traitors. Betrayal is always bad, unless the person you're betraying is evil and deserves it.

I could argue that humanity IS evil and DOES deserve it. Particularly the aspect that has most commonly interacted with me. To put it simply: Fuck society.

But not everyone is evil. People can be selfish or mean or whatever--I mean, everyone is sometimes--but that doesn't mean they're all evil.

Fair enough, but the nice ones don't seem to like me a whole lot. And who knows? Maybe the Skrulls are alright.

Yeah, but someone liking you or not isn't really a reason to hurt them.

Well, what are they planning, exactly?

How is that alright? That's no different from the Fire Nation!

Last I checked, the Fire Nation pretty much already succeeded. It seems more like you and your friends are the ones trying to take over the world. Going after the one in power, dethroning him, and changing the world order that's been established for about 100 years, right? Sure you're doing it for arguably good reasons, but it really comes down to perspective.

[She honestly never thought about that before, so she pauses, mulling that over for a minute. But then she shakes her head.]

No, that's wrong. The Fire Nation wants to control everything. We don't. We're doing this so the world can be free again.

Well, not everyone you face will see it that way. And maybe that's how the Skrulls see it. Hard to say. Which might be one reason why I haven't made up my mind yet.

I never said the Skrulls intended to enslave anybody. You should hear their pitch. They say they wanna be peaceful and junk.

Or were you talking about the Fire Nation? In which case, do you think the bulk of the Fire Nation knows about how their enemies are treated? They're living decent lives and their only worry is whether or not you guys are going to ruin everything. To them, you're the invading bad guys.
