Arrival

[A young woman appears not far from the bar wearing a pale pink two piece suit and loose caramel hair framing her face. Understandably, she's rather confused.]

Hello? Can someone tell me exactly what is going on? I really must get back, my next meeting is in an hour and I still need to look over the files for the negotiations.

[Relena frowns a little and approaches the nearest person to her. Admittedly, she was a little distorted by the scenery. Was she in space? That couldn't be possible! She was in a store a moment ago in her own city of all places. ]

Excuse me, can you kindly explain where I am? None of this is making sense. Is that space out there? How can I be in space and not on a shuttle or a colony? Can you please point me in the direction of someone that can tell me what exactly is going on? I really need to get back.

[That confirmed it. She was from a year prior]

It would have distracted you.

[Well, that was an interesting, yet familiar sight. Relena popped up here, did she? Duo stood within sight of both of them, watching from afar. And he figured he was wise to do so.]

It would have been a pleasant distraction.

[She took a step closer, peering at the pilot. There was just something different and she couldn't pinpoint it. For now, she let it go. Relena was just happy to see him again. Perhaps he would stick around this time?]

Well Heero, it seems I don't have a clue where I am. Perhaps you can tell me about this place and show me around?

[He would look a bit older to her, maybe even a little taller. At the very least, he had exchanged his spandex shorts for jeans.]

This is a place called the Astral Plane. It appears to be a dumping point for different worlds.

[Then he noticed Duo standing there and he frowned slightly. They had things to do.]

[Yeah they did. It was quickly coming up to the time they set to go into action. He approached the two.] Hey Heero.

So the machine decided kidnap the princess too, huh?

[Before Relena could even ask another voice spoke up. She turned towards the source and paused, not recognizing who it was. It's obvious they knew Heero and what was going on but really, that could mean anything.

But, how did he know she had been a princess?]

I am no longer a princess, and I haven't been for awhile now. Now what do you mean 'machine'? What's going on?

[He nodded slightly to Duo before looking at Relena again.]

The machine is what brings us here, Relena.

Don't recognize me, 'lady'? [He'd only met Relena twice in the path, and the first time they met they had a hat. That was all he had. To Heero, he nods.]

Yeah. That's right. But we couldn't tell you what the machine actually is.

[The 'strangers' words prompted her to take a closer look. He was.. familiar. Especially those eyes. Where had she seen them before? Relena frowned before glancing up at Heero and then back to the other.

Something was off and she wasn't sure if she liked it. Heero seemed older than the last time she saw him and this stranger looked almost like... Almost like Duo! Her eyes widened a little as she stared at him. Perhaps..it is him? But last time she saw him, he had a braid.]

...Duo? Is that you? Will someone please, explain to me exactly what's going on here? I can't help but feel a little lost, and I would really appreciate being clued into what's going on.

[He watched as Relena looked at the both of them more closely and noticed they were different. ]

He is Duo, from an alternate timeline. [That was all he would say about Duo. The rest was up to him.] I'm one year ahead of you in our timeline, right after another rebellion.

The machine pulls us from different points in time and different worlds. It pulled you in too, with the purpose of experimenting on all of us.

Yeah. It's me. Circa AC 202. And the rest is history.

[Duo nodded to that, what Heero said.] Yep. I ended up in a goddamn fairy tale two weeks ago. And Heero? They started messing with him the week after.

So you might be better off just staying home, if that's any safer.

Hold on, another rebellion? The Colonies agreed to give up armaments! So did the Earth. We're on our way towards peace, who would want to rebel?

[The news of someone starting another fight was beginning to up set the pacifist as she glanced between the two boys? Men?]

How did you end up in a fairy tale? How are the timelines different? As for home, I am only as safe as the person standing next to me.

I can't tell you that. [If he wanted to preserve the timeline the way it was, he couldn't let her know just who it was that would rebel.]

That's what the machine does. As for him, Duo will explain that to you.

I couldn't tell you. Seems like everyone just got thrown into some fairy tale world, so it wasn't just me. I figured it was someone's idea of a bad joke.

[As for the timelines. Later. She didn't need to know.] It split. My time, yours. You know what they say though: 'the more things change the more they stay the same.'

The timeline split?

[Relena really isn't sure what to think about this. Perhaps it was a little much to take in? A new place without warning, Heero now older than her, Duo without his braid and claiming to be from an alternate timeline...

For a few moments she wondered if she were running a fever and hallucinating. That would explain this wouldn't it? Yes, it would. But that wouldn't solve the issues at hand. Namely, Now what? It's obvious she wasn't going to get details out of them.

After a few moments she just shakes her head.]

Right..machine, experiments, a rebellion you won't elaborate on and different timelines. Anything else you wish to throw at me while we're at it?

[There was that small matter about a battle he and Duo were about to run off into, but that would be left just between them.]

No.

[He took a moment to think back to where exactly she was in the timeline. If things were finally getting underway, then that meant she was nearing the kidnap attempt.]

When you go home, be careful.

[Any thing else?] Not really. [He like Heero wasn't really at liberty to go talk to a pacifist about committing an act of violence.]

Yeah. Actually Heero's right. You're better off just not knowing too much about your own future.

[There was something amiss here. Something big and they were not going to tell her. For now, she would let it go and hopefully she could uncover it later. As for the 'future' comment, she frowned and tenses a little.

Relena.. really hated it when things were being kept from her.]

Perhaps the world would be better off if I did know. Then perhaps it could be stopped and lives could be saved instead of people keeping secrets that may cause lives.

Now Heero, why do I need to be careful? Won't Noin's security measures be enough to interfere from what might happen? What about that new organization Lady Une is trying to get running? Surely she wouldn't let anything happen.

[He frowned when she tried to pry more information out of him.]

Just trust me. I can't tell you.

Don't worry, Princess. [He won't drop that yet.]

You don't want to cause a time paradox, do ya?

[Relena drew in a deep breath as she just leveled a glare at both of them. For now, she was going to ignore the 'princess' comment.]

I suppose not, however, I still dislike being kept in the dark. Especially when it pertains to my own safety.

You'll be fine. [He could guarantee that much. After all, he and the other pilots had stopped it once again.]

Yeah. Just stay out of trouble.

[Duo starts walking off then.] I'll catch you guys later, alright? [He looked at Heero a second longer than he did Relena.]

[Somehow she didn't think they would elaborate more.]

Unlike the two of you, I don't go looking for trouble.

[Personally, she felt she was stating a well known fact and chances were once she figured out exactly what was being kept from her, she would be right.]

[He gives Duo a slight nod before looking back at Relena.]

It's for your own good. [The whole not knowing part.]
