[Sawako is standing in front of a table, with a pile of papers, an empty basket and a cup of pens to her left. To her right are smaller slips of paper, more pens, and an empty bowl.]

[she clears her throat]

Excuse - excuse me. After everything that happened and everyone being stuck here, there was a lot of things we didn't know. In order to avoid too much confusion in the future, or if people leave and new people find themselves stuck here, I thought it would be a good idea to collect information we can look back on later. Of course - of course this isn't required, but it would be really helpful. So - so if you could fill out one of these surveys and put it in the basket when you're finished it would really help, it would help a lot!

If anyone has an idea of where we could keep this information, it would help out a lot, too. The library doesn't seem like such a good idea now. I can take care of organizing and managing it, but it would be very welcome if anyone had space here to offer.

[she looks to the bowl and items on her right]

Also, [she fidgets, looking down and blushing, before looking up, determined once again] in my universe it's approaching the winter holiday season and I thought, maybe, we could use this as a way to get to know each other. So if anyone would be interested in doing a Secret Santa you can put your name in the bowl here. When it looks like we have enough people we can draw names.

And - and if anyone has any other ideas, please let me know!

[she bows] Thank you.

[and then she waits in zen-like creepy patience.]

((ooc; Survey thing can be filled out here. Respond to this post with characters you'd like to have in the Secret Santa. Put in as many as you like!)

It looks quite extensive. If I think of anything, I will let you know.

[He shakes his head.] It's April, actually. But it's December for you, then.

[identity profile] rationalist.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
I can't be sure. We could do a measure of time between our worlds. It will have to be timed carefully to be as accurate as possible.

[identity profile] rationalist.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
It won't be easy but we could sit together with precise clocks and start measuring from a decided point.

[identity profile] rationalist.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. [Sherlock pauses.] What sort of experiment would you suggest?

[identity profile] rationalist.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
That seems logical enough. The clocks need to be as precise as possible. They'll also need the date.

[identity profile] rationalist.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
[With a slight smile.] Of course. Do you need one?

[identity profile] rationalist.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
I prefer to always have an experiment or two going, yes.

[identity profile] rationalist.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
Right now, I'm studying how water effects a corpse through varying temperatures.

[identity profile] rationalist.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
I'm still studying it. Higher temperatures are more difficult to study. I can use liquid nitrogen for any cold tests but heat tests require more equipment.

[identity profile] rationalist.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
I might, actually. The flat can only withstand so much.

[After a moment, he reaches out, taking up a pen and slip of paper. He scribbles his name and drops it into the bowl.]

[identity profile] rationalist.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
[He thought that would make her happy.]

It's unlikely. But it could be a little challenge in its own right.

[identity profile] rationalist.livejournal.com 2010-12-09 08:02 am (UTC)(link)
[With a slight shrug.] I've never done this whole...gift-giving and receiving thing.
