[today, Oliver arrives on the Plane with a bed in tow. not just any bed, but what appears to be a standard-issue hospital bed from the 27th century. he is also wearing a hospital gown, and he has an oxygen tube hooked to his nose and an IV in his arm, although the appartuses the devices were attached to don't seem to have made it to the Plane with him. hopefully he didn't actually need those. interestingly enough, there is no sign of injury on Oliver himself, except for perhaps the IV in his arm. but in addition to all this, Oliver looks terribly startled to have arrived on the Plane]

What the--what is this!? [looks around him in confusion, then gives the IV a suspicious look] I thought I wasn't on anything strong! Why the hell... This was a dream! [turns upward, apparently addressing the stars themselves] A dream, you hear?

I know I was wishing to be anywhere but hospital, but blimey, that didn't mean I wanted to start hallucinating! [sighs] I wonder how long this is gonna last... [props himself up a bit, pulling the tube out of his nose as he turns to take a look around him]

[ooc: This is NOT an experiment. Oliver is suffering from some nasty side effects of chemical exposure during an incident on Gondovan. He currently has amnesia stretching through the last several years of his life. His memory will slowly return, but for now he doesn't remember the Plane or anyone on it, nor how his empathy ability works. he also doesn't remember the details of his life on Gondovan or even the end of his travels with the Doctor. So, enjoy the confused Brummie!]

[pretends he doesn't hear that remark]

Not too far. See that building over there? [points to a rather fancy-looking building] That's where we've got to go.

[oliverplus]

Ohhh! [whistles] That looks posh.

[bit_impossible]

Yes, well, if you think that's posh, you should see the one in Versailles! Pick a year, and it will always be grand! Well...we should avoid the French Revolution years. I'd rather not go there again. [he pulls a face]

[oliverplus]

[shakes his head] Only you.

Come on, I want to get out of this thing! [picks up his pace as he heads for the ballroom]

[bit_impossible]

[walks alongside him, easily keeping pace, a teasing smile on his face] You know, you're lucky hospital gowns in the 27th century are designed to preserve one's dignity. Well...as much as they can anyway. Hopefully, they've got some shoes in there.

[oliverplus]

[gives him a look] I won't need to be lucky if I can get something else!

But what's the plan after this? How are we gonna find out what happened?

Well...I might have a plan there, or the beginnings of one, anyway.

[oliverplus]

Yeah? What's that?

[bit_impossible]

I'll tell you once you're dressed. [opens the door to the ballroom for him]

[oliverplus]

[makes a face] I can listen and change at the same time, you know.

[but he heads in, stopping just inside] Whoa! This really is posh!

[bit_impossible]

[smiles mischievously] You'll be a little distracted. Trust me.

[and that smile slips] You say that like I never brought you anywhere nice while you were with me!

[oliverplus]

If you say so...

[smirking faintly] It's not that! I mean, Ancient China was nice. Minus the arrows.

[bit_impossible]

[looks sheepish] Oh, remember the arrows, do you?

[oliverplus]

"The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune," I think you said?

[heads past the entryway, ready to find some real clothes]

[bit_impossible]

Well, yes, but if you think about it, your fortune was outrageous considering where you were struck.

[oliverplus]

Thanks for the fond memories, Doctor.

[starts rooting through the costumes. whistles] This is worse than the TARDIS wardrobe!

[bit_impossible]

Any time, Ollie! [he grins]

[aaaaand then he looks aghast] Worse?! How is it worse?

[oliverplus]

[holds out a frilly jacket for the Doctor to see] Have you seen what's in here?

[bit_impossible]

I might have once or twice, but I think these are more for fancy dress parties more than anything.

[oliverplus]

Yeah, fancy. Definitely.

[roots through the selection a bit more] Well. I've worn worse. [pulls out a shirt and vest that are, at least, devoid of frills, and some slacks] Better than the gown, anyway... [starts to change]

[bit_impossible]

[wanders away a bit while Oliver changes and complains] Ah, these just might go with your, erm, costume. [plucks a pair of black calf-high leather boots from a rack, tossing them towards Oliver] Should be your size.

[oliverplus]

[eyes the boots; dryly] Got a hat to go with those? [but he starts pulling them on anyway]

Actually, there are a few dozen here, I'd reckon. Care for one that has the least amount of feathers on it?
