[014]

[today, Oliver arrives on the Plane with a bed in tow. not just any bed, but what appears to be a standard-issue hospital bed from the 27th century. he is also wearing a hospital gown, and he has an oxygen tube hooked to his nose and an IV in his arm, although the appartuses the devices were attached to don't seem to have made it to the Plane with him. hopefully he didn't actually need those. interestingly enough, there is no sign of injury on Oliver himself, except for perhaps the IV in his arm. but in addition to all this, Oliver looks terribly startled to have arrived on the Plane]

What the--what is this!? [looks around him in confusion, then gives the IV a suspicious look] I thought I wasn't on anything strong! Why the hell... This was a dream! [turns upward, apparently addressing the stars themselves] A dream, you hear?

I know I was wishing to be anywhere but hospital, but blimey, that didn't mean I wanted to start hallucinating! [sighs] I wonder how long this is gonna last... [props himself up a bit, pulling the tube out of his nose as he turns to take a look around him]

[ooc: This is NOT an experiment. Oliver is suffering from some nasty side effects of chemical exposure during an incident on Gondovan. He currently has amnesia stretching through the last several years of his life. His memory will slowly return, but for now he doesn't remember the Plane or anyone on it, nor how his empathy ability works. he also doesn't remember the details of his life on Gondovan or even the end of his travels with the Doctor. So, enjoy the confused Brummie!]

Well, let me ask you this before I answer your question. Do you remember what happened before you woke up in hospital?
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Yeah about that...)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-12-14 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
[starts rubbing the back of his neck, letting out a small sigh] Well, I was hoping there might have been a little spark of something...
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Oh come off it)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-12-14 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
[he frowns too, but out of annoyance] Oh come on, think! You were in hospital for a reason. Oh! How about this: does the name Mikaeja mean anything to you?
bit_impossible: (Doctor-That's good right?)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-12-14 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
[he nods; eagerly] And what else? Keep going!
bit_impossible: (Doctor-That's good right?)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-12-14 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
[goodness, that doesn't help your case, Oliver] And? [he pauses] I know it's tough, Ollie, but you'll only harm yourself further if you don't remember.
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Alright?)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-12-15 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, what was that? You don't have a what?
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Eye roll)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-12-19 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, of course there's an 'and'! Look it up in any dictionary! Well...there is one it won't appear in, but that depends on when you do as well...

[train of thought derailment denied!]

[he waves those questions off]
It doesn't matter, point is, there is an 'and'. You're going to continue to remember, even if it is at a snail's pace.
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Just that awesome)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-12-19 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Fortunately for us, there is a precedence for this. [pats him on the back, then he looks at what Oliver's wearing and chuckles to himself] And once you do, you can get some proper clothing.
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Is momentarily distracted)

[personal profile] bit_impossible 2010-12-19 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if the hospital staff went by assertions that their patients were feeling perfectly well, only the deathly ill and newly operated-upon would ever stay.
bit_impossible: (Doctor-Now listen)

Weird blood test? [he opens his mouth, then closes it. and then he realises why it would be weird--and proceeds to not explain why, instead opting to just scratch the back of his neck] Well, they're probably being dodgy because they don't want to alarm you. That or they're genuinely unsure about it. Keep in mind that you're a 21st century man living six centuries in the future.

Well, that is why they tell patients they're going to hold them overnight for observations--key word in that sentence being "observations". Besides, they've got to figure out why you reacted so adversely to a humane agent such as citriloform. You're a unique case to them.

[hears that and gives him a look]
