[the Doctor stands outside the library, Meredith's words of caution from the projection surfacing in one of his many passing thoughts:

"Be careful in the library."

for the Doctor, that's like slapping a big ol' "DO NOT ENTER" sign on it and expecting him to stay out. of course, it's a sign that he'll brazenly ignore and continue on his merry way just like he's always done.

but he has another reason for heading for the library besides some not-quite-so-amateur sleuthing...]

[to no one in particular:] Well, let's hope the bookworms haven't decided to revolt!

[he pushes the doors open with a flourish and heads in]

[Box huffs a little at this person.] Well you didn't exactly ask you know. Why would I tell something like that just out of the blue?! And I'm not mysophobe, it's just hygiene disorder, it's not as bad as Mysophobia-- is it?

[he shrugs, looking a bit sheepish] Well, we were going into a library and besides, I don't meant many people who have to live with that! It's not one of my standard quiz questions when I meet someone.

But no, it's not bad or anything. However...oh! I know! [he drops from the Plane suddenly and reappears a moment later with a pair of rubber gloves, a disposable face mask, and a full face visor. ] Maybe these will help? I promise the gloves are completely new.

Uh, I see... do you meet a lot of people-- hey! [Gapes when the Doctor leaves, making Box thinks he just left him there like that!] What where-- ooooh. [One can almost see the sparkles in Box's eyes as he is checking out the equipment.] Is this for me?

No, I thought I'd take them out for a walk, give them a little air. Of course they're for you! [holds the bundle of stuff out to Box]

Oh, wow... [Box takes the stuff carefully, bowing a little.] Thank you. I always wanted a set of this! Though I never trusted the delivery... [And before he puts them on he sprays them with some antibacterial spray. Better be safe than sorry!] You don't need any? I mean, people so underestimate the power of germs. As a doctor you might know better...

[he smiles, not minding that Box has to do that. he actually expected it and so didn't do anything more than a cursory examination to see if they were clean] I'm not just "a doctor", I'm the Doctor. Comes with its own perks--like not needing certain items in a doubtless dusty old library.

The Doctor. [Box repeats as he pulls down the visor.] I can't help it I need these things...! Okay, w-well you are not afraid of dust. But what about the monsters, and things? Or what if your friend's remains would come back crawling around-- Uuh, maybe getting inside this place is not a good idea after all--

The monsters never got in the library, did they? We'd certainly be able to hear them by now and them us. [he doesn't choose to comment on the remains of his friends, especially not after seeing them lining the hallway leading to the voting area in the onsen] So don't worry! One should never be afraid of a simple library.

[flashes Box a grin and spins on his heel, heading for the stairs leading up to the next level]

But maybe now they can. That's why we must uh, look out..! It's just-- H-hey... hey w-wait! It's not the library I'm afraid of-- [Box hesitates once again to go after him, but damn he is so afraid to go out alone.]

[glances behind him, stopping] No? What then?

[Blinks. He kinda is afraid of everything... He nervously picks at his mask.] I-I'm not sure... It's just... they warned us: 'be careful' a-and that usually stands for something dangerous, no?

[shrugs his shoulders a bit] Not necessarily. It could have been a warning they've decided to instate a minor fee for late or lost books.

Bu- But... why would they warn about books when they were doing that thing, I mean... they can't be that inconsiderate... And well the library was always a safe place during the shut down, so- so maybe now it's the place where people shouldn't go!

Considering what they've done to us in the past, a library fee is just a simple smack on the cheek. Besides, the kitchen and bar were safe as well. You know, there are far worse things you can do to injure yourself there than in a library.

[Pulls his mouth.] Alright, then this all doesn't make sense! So, uh... so what are you looking for then?

[his expression turns serious] Everything else.

[Box blinks slightly taken aback by the sudden serious. Then looks around as that 'everything else' would jump them anytime.] Is that so...?

[bit_impossible]

[that seriousness? yeah, most of it's gone a moment later] Yup! And lucky for the pair of us, I've already eliminated at least 75% of those possibilities already. [he smiles and continues up the stairs]

[Box will faint soon from the sudden mood changes.] That still leaves us with 25% which is pretty high... [Grumbles, following the guy tightly.] What if we won't find anything? [What he really, really hoped.]

[somewhat distractedly as he's glancing around him, looking for anything out of the ordinary] Well, ideally, we'll leave here with a good book to read and the knowledge that nothing is going to jump out at us the next time we enter here.
