[the Doctor stands outside the library, Meredith's words of caution from the projection surfacing in one of his many passing thoughts:

"Be careful in the library."

for the Doctor, that's like slapping a big ol' "DO NOT ENTER" sign on it and expecting him to stay out. of course, it's a sign that he'll brazenly ignore and continue on his merry way just like he's always done.

but he has another reason for heading for the library besides some not-quite-so-amateur sleuthing...]

[to no one in particular:] Well, let's hope the bookworms haven't decided to revolt!

[he pushes the doors open with a flourish and heads in]

[very seriously] Oh, no, I don't think this sort of environment could sustain their particular breed of mutation.

Well, nothing has erupted into flames quite yet.

[shrugs slightly, casually rubbing his chin] Nah, definitely not. In the very least, they could mutate into a breed that has a taste for rare books--or something like the Twilight series novels. Never can tell what their tastes will be like...

[groans slightly] Oh, don't say that! That's like saying what could be worse and following it up with, "At least it isn't raining."!

itt, we learn what the space bar does

It seemed more appropriate than commenting on the fact that no eldritch horror has appeared yet.

Well, that is also true. [rubs the back of his neck] Besides, it could be lurking where we least expect something to appear. She wasn't exactly specific on what we ought to be careful of, and knowing this place, it could be anything. Literally anything!

Or when, for that matter. Or even if. Given all that's happened lately, I would not be overly surprised if she was simply pulling our collective legs.

[starts examining the nearby area] Oh, I wouldn't either. In fact, there's every possibility that's the case, but nonetheless, enough people have been hurt recently. There doesn't need to be any more blood shed. [his thoughts drift to the Master in that clip and his hands clench briefly]

Aye. I tire of it as well. It's strange - this place was fairly peaceful until lately.

[Mu's checking things out as well, in his own calm, slow manner]

[his brow furrows as he frowns] So being made to make choices and vote like that is new then, is that right?

[Spotting this, Jamie decides he's going to follow, and quietly enters the library behind the Time Lord.]

[Box was curious about the library thing too. He wanted to just not to go near it until there are news that nothing terrible would happen. So he is just in time to see the strange man's actions.]

Wha-what what what are you doing?! Hey, uh, you, uh, mister, err-- sir! [Seriously, how would western people call after the other?!]

It certainly is. Being forced to stay here has happened twice before, but neither times were either quite so long a stay, nor quite so intense.

[Braxiatel smiles and takes a seat.] You wanted to talk. I have . . . certain obligations these days, and I need to attend to them. So if you'd care to start? With as little preamble as you can manage.

And so, cane in hand, Break does the natural thing: he follows the Doctor inside. After a moment's pause, it's from over his shoulder that he speaks up. And whatever shall we do if they decide to attack with their books, I wonder?

[he doesn't sit] Actually, I was thinking we should talk somewhere a little farther in. More private that way. I certainly won't be the only one coming in and out of here to investigate.

Besides, time freezes back in our realities, so what's the rush? [he gives him a cheeky smile of his own and turns on his heel]

[he stands up straight, turning his attentions immediately on to Mu] Twice? I'd heard about the incident at the onsen, but there was another?

[With the resigned sigh of an old man, Brax pushes himself to his feet and follows after the Doctor.]

[bit_impossible]

[glances at Jamie, his face splitting into a grin] Haven't a clue! Only that it's something that we ought to be careful of in here which, well, could be anything.

[he stops, confused, and turns around] Sorry, yes? [spots Box] Ah, hello there. Is something wrong?

[bit_impossible]

[he spins around hearing that question--though in truth, he did have a feeling something was there; he just isn't letting that on]

Well! I suspect we'll have to resort to using pens to fend them off.

[and he leads Brax to a secluded set of couches up on the first storey]

Sorry 'bout that. [settles down in one of the couches, elbows rested on his knees as he leans forward] Thank you for coming, by the way.

[Shifts his weight a bit nervously.] It's just-- it's just they said to be careful, n-no? Not to invade, maybe it's dangerous or something, there could be monsters, or well, I don't know, mud? Or germs.

Mm. Perhaps....six months after I first arrived, maybe seven. The stars went out, and we were all pulled here at once and unable to leave. The darkness made getting around quite a feat.

[Braxiatel doesn't take his eyes off the Doctor as he sits.] How formally kind of you, Thete. I'm beginning to think I should worry.
