What's all this then? It's pretty unexpected, I have to say. If this is what I've been missing out on, I'll have to start sneaking out of the Palace again.

Still, as nice as the scenery is, pulling people into Machines isn't something to be taken lightly. Grand experiments like this without the consent of the test subjects aren't something I can condone. I might have to talk to some people. Hopefully there aren’t any idiots I know getting themselves mixed up in anything they shouldn't be. It would be a hassle to have to clean up someone else's mess again.

So how about someone come out and tell me how to get out of this place? While the look of the place and the new surroundings are great, being trapped too long in one place would be annoying.

How much time do we have before Luke and Tear get to Akzeriuth?

Given the delays [including the slaughtering of the Tartarus's crew] it will take slightly less than two weeks. Time doesn't always match up properly, so it may be longer or shorter for us.

So we'll just stall Asch until that happens. The guy doesn't seem like he's in a rush to talk to Luke or anything. It can't be that hard.

Ugh, don't sound so pure and supportive. If you keep it up, you're going to make me sick.

[look at how quickly he can switch to serious talking] We may be able to stall Asch. But if he realizes his time is running out, he may act even more recklessly to change things.

What about those guys that brought us here in the first place? This whole thing is their fault anyway. Can we talk to them or something and get them to help us out and keep Asch from screwing things up?

It's possible. We may also be able to appeal them for a failsafe to reboot our universe, should things go wrong.

It never hurts to have some extra allies or a decent backup plan. Let's get some talks going with them before Asch gets too troublesome.

Young people thinking they're older than they are is such a hassle. It's half the reason Asch is such a pain in the ass right now.

When they resurrected me, I noticed a change in my blood's physical appearance and metallic content. My fonon levels are mostly normal, but there's something unusual in the way I'm processing the First Fonon.

They resurrected you? When did you die?

I don't know. That's one thing I'd like to ask them about. It wasn't fomicry, and I don't say that merely because I retain my memories. Based on the tests I did on myself, none of the alterations fit any possible models for fomicry. [Jade has enough trust in his own abilities to believe the results.] Other individuals have similarly died and been resurrected. It seems to be encouraged, in fact.

[he can't hide his annoyance at that. Jade isn't allowed to get himself killed.]

[Jade does not call Peony a grumpy old man, even if he is one.]

Aside from the changes to my blood and the discrepancies in processing the First Fonon, I haven't found anything. I can use artes based in the First Fonon as well as before, so I'll have to do further testing.

[relenting to Peony's seriousness] A group of people were selected to fights to the death. I didn't win.

[Jade is completely unashamed of this.]

[He's less grumpy when Jade relents, but he's still grumpy. He does not call Jade a reckless young man, even if he is one.]

[he sighs] Make sure the changes aren't anything that will be a problem in the future. I wouldn't want you finding new excuses to be lazy.

Fortunately, no. I was the only person from Auldrant brought to the battlefield.

That's a relief. One resurrected idiot is more than enough.
