[The Doctor is not, surprisingly, brooding in the bar. In fact, he's not even brooding! He actually appears to be genuinely happy, in a "beaming away like Father Christmas" sort of way...and he's humming. A bit off-key, yes, but it's distinctly "Luck Be A Lady."

There are a few bits of TARDIS machinery piled up nearby -- the Doctor is actually taking Omega's advice, and repairing them. Of course, he's doing all this in the middle of the library, utterly oblivious to the fact that he might be disturbing someone's peace and quiet.]

((ooc: Nine has been bumped to a bit after the end of the Doctor Dances, fyi! Slow tags may be slow 'cause of work, but. :|))

Why do you have to sound so happy about it. [glancing over at his repairwork] I hope you aren't terribly busy. I'd like to see it now.

How many times d'you get to say you stuck your hand in a black hole and survived? [just by luck, of course, but you know. details. he pouts a bit, though] Do we have to go now? I was just getting started.

Your time ship is a beautiful being, but you won't ever cease failing to repair her. We may as well look at the black hole now.

[he knows it's true, but that doesn't stop him from glaring. his TARDIS is a touchy subject right now] Fine, but only for a bit. Hang on a mo', I'm not leaving this here. [he takes the parts and tools and drops off the Plane, before reappearing with the notebook he showed the Master] Measurements! You want them?

[Braxiatel marks the glare but doesn't comment on it] If you wouldn't mind. I don't like to go into anything blind.

[tosses him the notebook, and gestures for him to follow] There's this big lump of invisible metal nearby too, watch out for that. [he's not going to say where, exactly, because he wants to see Brax walk into it >3] The Master and I have each got a piece, but I haven't had much time to experiment on it.

[Braxiatel keeps pace with the Doctor, looking through the notebook and half-listening to the Doctor] No, you wouldn't have, would you. Have beings from other worlds tried anything to examine? I'd like a comparative analysis.

Dunno, haven't talked to any who have. Diva told me they had to throw people with wings in there once. [there's a dark tone in his voice when he mentions the vampire...but oh look, there's the black hole! he's cheerfully sticking his hand in it again] See? Harmless.

[Brax looks up, stopping a distance away] People with wings? That hardly seems fair, does it? [He is frowning; the Angel fountain in his gardens are a tribute to Clarence]

[bluntly] They were killing people, apparently. [and he wanders back over to Brax, and grasps his hand -- just so Brax can feel how cold the black hole made his own] What d'you think of the temperature?

[subtly removing his hand from the Doctor's] I think I could save so much energy on refrigeration if I had something like this.

[he steps forwards, running a hand along the shape to get a feel for its dimensions and its texture]

[chuckles, shoving his hand back in his pocket] I've got no idea where the stuff goes or what happens to it after you toss it in...any ideas on how we could find out?

Have you thought to drop a tracker into it? [his voice is so mild, like he knows he is suggesting something that is obviously, but like he also knows the obvious tends to slip right on past the Doctor]

A tracker? [blinks, then grins] That's brilliant, Brax. [and he drops off the Plane, returning a few moments later with a tracking device]

I try not to miss the mind-numbingly obvious... You may have the honours of dropping it in.

[he beams, then drops it in the black hole, tracking its progress]

((ooc: I have no idea what sort of information he would get from this, so...))

[in less than thirty seconds, the signal stops]

[a pause]

I hope you didn't need that tracker.

[pouts] Damn. Didn't need it, but I was hoping it would last a bit longer.

[another pause]

Attach another one to a string and try it again?

[considers that] How long d'you think it ought to be?

As long as physically or technically possible seems the wisest idea. To be released slowly, so we know how far it will go?

[grins] Right, hang on. [and he digs around in his pocket, before producing the end of a piece of string] Take this and pull. [let's play "how much string can fit in the Doctor's pocket!" xD]

[holding his hands up so as to not take it] I'd rather not. [he means 'play that game']

[pointedly] You're the one who wanted a long piece of string. Pull.

I'm afraid that's completely out of the question. I'll hold your jacket and you may pull.
