(no subject)

[The Doctor is not, surprisingly, brooding in the bar. In fact, he's not even brooding! He actually appears to be genuinely happy, in a "beaming away like Father Christmas" sort of way...and he's humming. A bit off-key, yes, but it's distinctly "Luck Be A Lady."

There are a few bits of TARDIS machinery piled up nearby -- the Doctor is actually taking Omega's advice, and repairing them. Of course, he's doing all this in the middle of the library, utterly oblivious to the fact that he might be disturbing someone's peace and quiet.]

((ooc: Nine has been bumped to a bit after the end of the Doctor Dances, fyi! Slow tags may be slow 'cause of work, but. :|))

[Here's curious teenager who has been poking through the library] What are you doing?

[Have another curious teenager, Nine! This one is mildly infected by your beaming, because she's grinning back at him, in a slightly uncertain sort of way.

MAYBE RIVER IS LADY LUCK?]

[Looks at the bits of machinery. He hasn't seen anything like them before. But they are cluttering up the library so..] ..Making a mess.

{She's not a curious teenager, alas. She's in one of the aisles looking for a book, but when she hears his humming, she starts to sing along! She's proud that she knows the song, okay?}

[identity profile] madamemoiselle.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
{She trots out to meet him, holding a little pile of books}

You really didn't? I feel like people have been saying that to me too often lately! Singing is what I love most. It's the only thing I can do really well, I think.

Ne, I think so, too. But I haven't really...wanted to sing much, for a while. That's why I came to the library. There are a few opera librettos and arias, so I can learn something new, maybe.

[Barbara is rather cheerfully perusing the stacks, absently organising things – once a librarian, always a librarian – when she hears the humming

she follows the sound to the Doctor's impromptu work shop, and the sight prompts a surprised smile]

I hope you tune your hardware better than you tune your voice.

[identity profile] madamemoiselle.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
{Surprised} ...You do? What is it?

[identity profile] madamemoiselle.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, we only argue, Doctor. We might hurt each other a little bit every once in a while, but we can both take it. Besides, we're avoiding each other I'm pretty sure? I haven't talked to her since we got stuck together in the hot springs.

[identity profile] madamemoiselle.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
{still smiling sweetly, but there's a subtle, dangerous tone in her voice}

Oh? And what did he tell you, Doctor?

[identity profile] madamemoiselle.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Really? How did he find out about that?

I guess it doesn't matter. I did, yes.

[identity profile] madamemoiselle.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
{The books fall from her arms as she stumbles back, holding her face delicately}

...You...You hit me. {Excuse her, it's not often that she gets a punch to the face. Well, unless it's the TARDIS, but that's just ironic. But she doesn't look angry, upset, or really...anything. It's a bit unsettling.}

[identity profile] madamemoiselle.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
No one else threatened to kill me. No one else touched me. I don't really know.
