[Gene appears, a sandwich stuffed into his mouth, a cig in his other hand. he may or may not have stolen said food from a suspect currently being held at CID. he'll never admit it if you ask, anyway. at any rate, he's grinning maniacally from behind his sammich] Gene Genie: 1. Scum: nicked.

'Course there is. Why can you believe this and not time travel?

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
What do you think this is, then?

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
So then all of this is some elaborate dream?

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Mmm, maybe. It's not really that hard to imagine, though. If there's one planet with life on it and there's billions of other galaxies with trillions of other planets, there could be at least one more.

Yep! I can prove it, you know. My biology is different. I have two hearts.

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Then I wouldn't have room for the hearts. It's easy enough to test, you know.

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
[grins a bit] Well! You could just feel the double heartbeat. There's one on each side, hard to miss. Or you could use a glass as a makeshift stethoscope.

[mentally laughing at how he looks] Well, have a go, then! [shoves his hands into his pockets, thereby pulling back his coat]

[he's used to being handled roughly anyway; but since Gene took the gay-way, he smiles] Biology. It's natural to my species. Bi-vascular system. I don't know how humans survive with only one. It seems so inefficient.

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope! You heard them yourself. It's not the only biological difference but it's one of them.

Oooh, well, long life spans, very slow physical aging, much lower body temperature, respiratory bypass system, ability to completely regenerate every cell in my body, radiation doesn't bother me...

[identity profile] salvagestime.livejournal.com 2008-04-02 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
[grins] Right, sorry. I have extra 'lungs' that store air for me, my body temperature is cold, and if something kills me, I come back, just a bit different.

[stares at him] Honestly, what is it with people and thinking I'm Jesus?
