[The Doctor, after an encounter with a certain Time Lord who shall remain nameless, is utterly and completely smashed, thanks to some hot springs hijinks. He is also utterly and completely naked, and sprawled out in one of the indoor mineral baths.

He's got a ridiculously fake grin plastered (pun intended) all over his face as he fiddles with his indigo ring, inspecting it with his sonic screwdriver. Both of which are clearly awesome bath toys. Feel free to go wtf at him, especially because he is humming "Tainted Love" to himself during all this. Off-key. Clearly he should stick to dancing in this regeneration.]

((ooc: Slow tags will be slooow while I am writing this paper. But it will be done by tomorrow. Hopefully. Fff.))

[and a Reinette, who is perhaps not nearly has captures by the hijinks yet. She is, at least, in a 40's vintage black and white swimsuit with her hair down. She does have legs! So does he, it seems.]

I would have to kindly suggest that singing is not your particular talent.

[Nine's own swimwear, which he really was wearing originally, is in a pile on the floor with his robe somewhere. Best not to ask why. But have some eye rolling, Reinette.] 'Course it is! Got lots of talents, me. Very talented. Genius, even. Ever seen me dance?

[Dorothy's in a towel. What's underneath it is anybody's guess.]

Oh no. You're drunk as a skunk. What've you been puttin' into yourself?

[oh but she cannot help it, she laughs]

Yes Doctor, you might say that I have seen you dance.

[he laughs! loudly.] Drunk as a skunk! That's a good one. Ought to remember that. But no, I'm not drunk! Can't be, got a high tolerance and all that. Time Lord...thing. Yes. Time tolerance to alcohol. [somewhere in the back of his mind he realises that sentence doesn't make sense, but he's too...fuzzy to care]

[beams! He made her laugh, yay.] Fantastic! We ought to do that sometime. The dancing bit. Could be fun. They've got a ballroom around here and everything. Well, not in the onsen, but back in the...normal part. Of the Plane. [vague hand gesture goes here]

Uh-huh. Not on the Plane, you don't. Look at yourself!

[noticing a certain pile of clothing on the floor]

...Oh lord, is that yours?

[glances down at himself, confused, before blinking and following her gaze. rather matter-of-fact;] Yep, those're mine. I took them off!

[POLITELY AVERTING HER EYES NOW]

Why. Why did you do that.

[NINE IS OBLIVIOUS TO ANY AWKWARDNESS] Why not? When in Rome, and all that. Well, Japan, really. Not that the Romans didn't have public baths too, mind you. Bit different than these, though.

Because! It's... not polite!!

[well... that's one reason.]

[pfft] Not polite in some cultures, maybe. Perfectly acceptable in others!

Well it's not in mine.

[POUT.]

[the Doctor happens upon him after his own chat with Omega, during which he miraculously managed not to become staggeringly drunk

after a moment of staring, he pinches the bridge of his nose and just sighs]

Doctor.

[have a great big grin, Five! And a wave. Which promptly causes him to drop the sonic screwdriver in the water, oops.] Doctor! It's like I'm seeing double. Twice. 'Cause there's you, see, and you're me, so that's double, and then you're a bit fuzzy so that's another double...

Well tough. You gonna join me in here or stand around all day in - what are you wearing under that?

More than you!

[And now she's totally redfaced, THANKS NINE]

Where I come from, Doctor, good girls don't hop into hot tubs with naked men, and I am definitely a good girl!

[Nine is a bit redfaced too, Dorothy, it's okay] Oi! I didn't mean it like that.

How exactly did you mean it, then? You know, you spacemen can be so clueless sometimes. Honestly.

[Although having embarrassed him thoroughly, she is willing to let the subject drop. And also, her towel! Have a lovely silver strapless one-piece with cut-out sides and back. Dorothy's hoppin' in-- on the complete other side of the tub, thank you very much. She's still got SOME manners.]

You know how I meant it! [he is just turning redder by the second, really, thanks Dorothy. He stares at her suit, though, entranced by the silver. because he's drunk.] That's a beautiful material. Very...shiny.

I like silver. [duh.] Though it is sorta strange, considering I didn't pick it. It just showed up in the closet in the room I popped up here in. I guess it's mine, then, huh?

[chuckles] 'Course it's yours, Sparkles. Fits you, doesn't it?

[Sparkles?! Okay, Dorothy's laughing now.]

But how'd it get here? How'd it know which room was mine? For that matter, how'd the Plane know my size? Not the sorta thing you just know about people. Got to do with these rings, you think?

[nod nod] Good question. Very good question. 'Course it does! The rings, the baths, the clothes...s'all connected. Like...connected things. Dots! Lots of dots. We've just got to connect them all and see what the picture makes.

[just looks at him for a moment or two, then shakes her head]

Why'd I even bother? You're smashed. Do Time Lords get hangovers?
