[The Doctor, after an encounter with a certain Time Lord who shall remain nameless, is utterly and completely smashed, thanks to some hot springs hijinks. He is also utterly and completely naked, and sprawled out in one of the indoor mineral baths.

He's got a ridiculously fake grin plastered (pun intended) all over his face as he fiddles with his indigo ring, inspecting it with his sonic screwdriver. Both of which are clearly awesome bath toys. Feel free to go wtf at him, especially because he is humming "Tainted Love" to himself during all this. Off-key. Clearly he should stick to dancing in this regeneration.]

[nod nod] Good question. Very good question. 'Course it does! The rings, the baths, the clothes...s'all connected. Like...connected things. Dots! Lots of dots. We've just got to connect them all and see what the picture makes.

[just looks at him for a moment or two, then shakes her head]

Why'd I even bother? You're smashed. Do Time Lords get hangovers?

Um. I dunno. Maybe? I can't remember. [have a helpful grin :D]

[stares]

[splashes him]

Oi! Stop that. [he laughs though, and splashes back playfully! :3]

Hey!

[commence: splashfight.]

You started it! [Nine is totally going to win, bring it on]

[Except for how Dorothy LIVES for splashfights, so consider yourself served, Ears]

Oh, I'm gonna need a drink if this keeps on for very long.

[smug] I'll consider that a victory, then.

Of a kind, I s'pose, if you have to. Be right back!

[she hops out of the tub and walks off to the nearby bar, returning with a whole bottle of champagne and a couple of glasses]

Now, I'm not much of a drinker, but I make an exception for bubbly. Take one of these glasses, willya? [she hands him one while she gets back into the hot tub and settles in, pouring for them both]

[oooh yay, more drinks! he grins, sipping his champagne] Bubbles are nice, aren't they? Sparkly bubbles for Sparkles. [are you really sure you want to get him more drunk, Dorothy?]

[laughs] You are gonna stop calling me that when you sober up, right? I don't know if I can take travelin' around with somebody who's callin' me Sparkles all the time.

[well, she is somewhat curious! It's possible she's trying to see what she can get out of him while he's in his loosened-up state, or maybe she's just messing with him. Who knows? Women are mysterious creatures, as the Doctor well knows.]

I dunno, it's kinda pretty! [drinks more champagne, yay] Y'know what else is sparkly? A nebula. Ought to take you to see one of those sometime.

You will, I'm sure! After you've sobered up. D'you think we've got a merger yet? The more you talk about it, the more I think you're not so excited about the prospect.

'Course I'm excited! Why wouldn't I be excited?

Well, you know. Lots of talking, no doing. But it's just me, I'm sure. If you say you're excited, I believe you.

[she sips her champagne and peers at him over the rim. can we stop saying "excited" now?]

[/snerk. Nine frowns, though] It's not like I can make it happen, y'know. Or if I could, I don't know how. But I would if I could! It's not...it's just me still, y'know? Me and the TARDIS. And Mortimer. [baww, he wishes his kitty were here ;;]

[aww Nine :( do not sadface!! Dorothy can't hug you because you're naked!! But the sentiment is there!]

Aw, hey, don't look like that, I'm only teasing! Long as you want me, I'll be here for ya. You know that. Alright? So don't look so glum. This is s'posed to be a vacation!

[he smiles again! tentatively. and drinks some more champagne :|] Still trying to figure a way out of said vacation - it's nice and all, but I'm not a fan of being trapped anywhere.

[frowning a little into her glass]

You and me both. Gotta say, though, I've been trapped in worse places. When Princess Langwidere had me locked in her tower, there sure weren't any hot tubs or open bars.

[wry smile] Been trapped in worse places myself. The worst - well, recently, anyway - involved being chained up and tortured by a stupid ape. Oh, and being locked in a room with a Dalek. [...which he really did not want to bring up, ffff. but he can't seem to stop himself]

[tortured? she doesn't like the sound of that]

What's a Dalek?

[blinks] None of my selves ever told you? They're...well. We fought them, in the Time War. [have a pause, as he figures out the best way to describe them] Daleks were bred with the sole purpose of survival. The only emotion left in them was hate - they weren't made to feel anything else. Sort of the ultimate in racial cleansing - everything that wasn't a Dalek, they'd wipe out.

[Dorothy looks confused and a little disgusted]

What's the point of surviving if there's literally nothing else to live for? Awful. Whose stupid idea were they?

[shakes his head] Doesn't matter. The point is, they're the scum of the universe. Or they were, anyway, 'til I wiped them out. Least, I thought I had. But one of them survived, and was locked up in that stupid museum.
