[The Doctor, after an encounter with a certain Time Lord who shall remain nameless, is utterly and completely smashed, thanks to some hot springs hijinks. He is also utterly and completely naked, and sprawled out in one of the indoor mineral baths.

He's got a ridiculously fake grin plastered (pun intended) all over his face as he fiddles with his indigo ring, inspecting it with his sonic screwdriver. Both of which are clearly awesome bath toys. Feel free to go wtf at him, especially because he is humming "Tainted Love" to himself during all this. Off-key. Clearly he should stick to dancing in this regeneration.]

[aaaaand back to ignoring Nine.] He could destroyed them when he had the opportunity to do so, instead of prolonging the inevitable and then murdering his own people in the same stroke.

I daresay you don't know every last detail. [and he knows none on that score but he won't mention that; instead he nods at Nine and lifts his ringed hand] How does red wine sound?

I'd take anything at this point. [he glances at the ring, smiling a bit] Willpower again, hm? Least, that's what he thinks it represents. [two people can play at this game, Omega]

Not certain about mine, though. Haven't seen another indigo one yet. [subtle attempt to change the topic again is not-so-subtle] Managed to get a staff out of it, though. And a forcefield! Very handy in a fight.

And you do? Tell me, Doctor, did you destroy the Daleks in your universe?

Willpower, hmm? I suppose it fits. Perhaps yours has to do with protection. I've tried, but they're resilient things. [to Omega] I've been trying but they're resilient things. Now hush, I need to concentrate. [and a bottle of wine and three wineglasses slowly begin to form]

[Nine will be ignoring Omega completely for the moment, staring in awe as the bottle and glasses form, waiting until Five is finished to speak] Now that's impressive. I'd take that over a stick any day.

[watches the glasses appear, less than impressed -- making things using only your mind loses its novelty after the first hundred years or so. He does note, however, that there are three glasses there, and quirks a brown at Five, curious.]

Did you hesitate, in your fourth life?

[grins at himself] Lovely, isn't it? And your stick might be more powerful than you give it credit for.

[notes that quirk, and gives a slight shrug as he pours] Your pedestal has crumbled a bit, but I'd hardly refuse a role model a drink - and are you talking of any particular situation?

[chuckles] You've got a point there. [and he's fairly sure he knows what situation Omega's referring to, but he doesn't know exactly how things have played out in his self's universe, so he's not going to bring it up first. instead he simply helps himself to the wine when his self is done pouring it]

[takes the drink with some wariness] When you were on Skaro. In my universe, you failed to complete your mission to destroy the Daleks before they could become a threat.

[takes a moment to digest this as he sips his wine; then, derisively] Yes, I'm sure that would have no negative impact at all on the Web of Time.

[snorts] Negative impact or no, I think someone over there ought to stop whining [raises his glass for emphasis - feel free to splash him for this pun, Five] and start fixing, since there's not a damn thing either of us could do about it.

[archly] Are you referring to the same Web of Time that would be destroyed with Gallifrey?

[and to Nine, directly] There is nothing you can do about it. I will not allow it to happen, even if it means I must destroy those wretched creatures myself.

[idly splashes the Doctor with his foot :|] I was speaking symbolically, actually. The destruction of Gallifrey was a blow for the universe, to be sure, but it was still the better option. [sincerely, as he raising a glass to Omega] I wish you luck.

[splashes back! and then he considers Omega for a moment] What he said. [gestures at Five] You'll need all the luck you can get, considering.

[staring darkly at his wine] I won't need luck.

But it wouldn't hurt. [snort] They're a stubborn lot. Goodness knows I'm not ready yet.

[have a sympathetic look, Five] Don't think you'll ever be "ready," if you're anything like me.

I am not you, Doctor. [well, for the most part, anyway...]

I think he meant me - though I'm not either, not quite. [glances at Omega] Speaking of, however, is there anything of him in there, or is it simply the body?

I did mean you, yeah. [nods, and follows Five's gaze] I'm betting there's still a bit of him in there somewhere.

There is enough.

[frowns, thoughtful and concerned] That can't be very...stable.

[Nine attempts not to look concerned, and fails. :|] That's a bit of an understatement. 'Course, it explains a lot.

[sharply] The situation is perfectly in hand. [and with a glance a Nine] And there is nothing for it to explain.
