[At first glance, the figure that appears on the Plane doesn’t look much like Susan Foreman. Instead of her favoured dark stripes and human fashions, she is dressed in a white coat and highly unusual glasses.]

Excuse me ... does anybody have a mirror I could use?

[She pushes up the glasses and reveals her face. The situation is rather precarious in her own world at the moment, and she needs a few moments to herself before she rejoins the Doctor and Zoe. Her trip to the Plane is nothing to do with vanity, although she's rather hoping that people will assume that. It might stop them from asking too many questions.]

I don't think it looks quite right.

[And it has to look right. She doesn't want to think about what will happen if they get caught out.]

OOC: 'The War Games' continues. I was tempted to skip straight to the final episode, but the glasses were too awesome to pass up.

What has he told you ... about us? [Although Susan knows about the war, she doesn't really appreciate the scale of it yet. She assumes that Martha is upset about something else. About the reason for their exile, perhaps? Not that I actually have any idea what that is.]

About Time Lords? Not that much - the whole... protect and travel in time thing... he talked about your planet. It sounds beautiful. The orange skies and the red grass. Otherwise, he doesn't really talk about it that much.

We haven't been there for a very long time. We're wanderers now, but we'll go back. One day.

[Susan isn't sure if she believes that, no matter what her grandfather says, but that isn't the point. She's testing Martha to try and work out what she knows.]

Uh... old New York, really new New York, Shakespeare's time, the Eye of Orion, the Lake District... a lot of Earth, really.

[pauses] He doesn't seem to like talking about his family. The way he is - this time, that is, I don't know much about his other regenerations - means he doesn't really mention important things unless it's really off-handed. You have to sit him down and drag it out if you want him to say something really important.

[Susan nods, unable to deny that.] Yes, I know. Although he looks now younger, he seems much older.

Right. Does that---happen a lot in your species? [realizing she has no idea how old Susan is]

I'm not sure. I haven't regenerated yet and Grandfather hasn't explained very much about it. The second body was younger than his first, but he did have that one for a very long time.

Oh, it's all right. I think I'm around 90 years old, though I suppose I could be a little older.
