006 [A Master of Disguise]

[At first glance, the figure that appears on the Plane doesn’t look much like Susan Foreman. Instead of her favoured dark stripes and human fashions, she is dressed in a white coat and highly unusual glasses.]

Excuse me ... does anybody have a mirror I could use?

[She pushes up the glasses and reveals her face. The situation is rather precarious in her own world at the moment, and she needs a few moments to herself before she rejoins the Doctor and Zoe. Her trip to the Plane is nothing to do with vanity, although she's rather hoping that people will assume that. It might stop them from asking too many questions.]

I don't think it looks quite right.

[And it has to look right. She doesn't want to think about what will happen if they get caught out.]

OOC: 'The War Games' continues. I was tempted to skip straight to the final episode, but the glasses were too awesome to pass up.

[Heeeere comes the bouncy brigade!] Gosh! Those are odd things you're wearing... That thingy on the face I mean; the rest of it looks great! All posh and stuff; 'S lovely really.

...What are they though?

[Cally tends to do that a lot]

Oh, really? ...Suppose that makes sense since they have glass in them an' that; why are you wearin' them over your eyes though?

Oh! Sounds a cool concept; must be nice being able to see.. Wait, see what?

[identity profile] taughtmedicine.livejournal.com 2009-09-26 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[...well]

I... have a pocket mirror?

[identity profile] lovethepossum.livejournal.com 2009-09-26 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Must be useful I suppose; seeing everythin'- must be very nice actually! Though I've never seen any people back home wearin' them.

[digs it out and hands it to her] Is that... normal clothing where you're from.

[identity profile] lovethepossum.livejournal.com 2009-09-27 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps, they'd be useful though- plus they'd look all nice! They're hardly the most sensible lot after all; anything that made them more sensible would be absolutely great for society an' that.

Oh! I forgot that, 'M Cally; 'S nice to meet you! An' that's a pretty name.

Martha. It's good to meet you. Are they for anything?

I wish we tried to blend in more often. You think he'd worry more about us getting our heads chopped off, but no, a brown coat is apparently good enough for any planet or time.

The Doctor? I think there are a few of him around here.

[identity profile] taughtmedicine.livejournal.com 2009-10-03 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
You're his granddaughter?

[and then, knowing what she knows, her eyes go wide and she puts a hand to her mouth. It muffles the words she can't help but say]

I'm so sorry.

[Martha tries to cover it up with a smile]

About what? It's great to meet you. You're a Time Lord like he is, then, right?

[identity profile] lovethepossum.livejournal.com 2009-10-03 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I was born in Ceresbar which is really cold and dark; it was in a nice castle but that was cold and dark too so I didn't like it much- and mother and father were always far too proud of it... But I left about a year and a bit back an' went off travelling; then bandits attacked and we're in some caves at the moment. We might be getting close to coming out again though which'll be nice.

That's 'cause I chose it; my long name is jus' weird but Cally goes nice- easier to say which is good 'cause people can talk then without feelin' all guilty.
