[The Doctor appears on the Plane, a mixture of utterly confused, and mildly annoyed] Oi! Bit more of an explanation would be nice! What sort of machine... [and he trails off when he notices the stars and galaxies, his expression turning to one of manic delight]

Fantastic! [walks around a bit, relieved to find that he is not falling through space, before noticing something] ...Hang on, this is all a bit wrong. Like some idiot cut up the universe and pasted it back together, but they’ve got no idea where anything goes. [digs through his pockets and eventually pulls out a red sharpie and a pad of paper, drawing out some proper star charts, and sticking them onto the “floor” of the Plane with duct tape. Because it holds the universe together.]

See? Not terribly complicated, is it? I’m sure you lot could fix it up this “machine” of yours with a bit of jiggery-pokery in no time. [crosses his arms] I’d fix it myself, but I’ve sort of got things to do, places to see, etc. So if someone wouldn’t mind showing me the way out, I’d appreciate it, thanks. [ waits for some kind of response] ...Ah. Maybe a bit of bribery? I’ve got...erm...[digs around in his pockets again, and pulls out a banana] ...a banana? Good source of potassium, bananas. [another pause] That’s never going to work, is it?

{He catches it, and doesn't crush it! Awesome!}

It's as simple as thinking about it, luckily! Just think of your home, take and step, and chances are, you'll be there again. It takes getting used to, but it's better than alternatives!

[and he's going to actually try it now - not that he really has a home, in the technical sense, but he thinks of his TARDIS, takes a step, and he's gone! He reappears a few moments later, beaming] Thanks! Didn't think that would actually work. Must be some sort of psychically connected transmat system.

I wouldn't have a clue! I would call it a magus's work, but that's my idea alone, it seems!

Nah, Dorothy thinks magic might be involved too, you ought to have a chat with her.

You've likely heard of me already! I am Alexander III of Macedon, Alexander the Great, and most recently, I've been called Rider.

Alexander the Great? Really? The Alexander the Great? [grins, offering him a hand to shake] Thought you looked familiar. Met you once, actually, but you wouldn't recognise me anymore. If you're the one I met, that is. It's possible you've come out of an alternate universe.

{He laughs merrily, taking the Doctor's hand in an enthusiastic handshake}

Perhaps indeed! I met so many people in my lifetime that I forget to remember them all. But perhaps your name will shake my memory a bit? Alternate universe or not!

[returns the handshake just as enthusiastically] I'm the Doctor! Looked much older back then.

Just "the Doctor"? Hmm, I can't recall anyone by just that name! I knew far more doctors towards the end of my life, but that's a different kind, I suppose!

[chuckles] Yes, it's a very different kind of doctor. I've got my moments, though.

{Laughs} Is that so? Do tell!
