[The Doctor is back around! Well, more or less. He technically didn't leave, he's just been avoiding the Plane entirely. He would rather still be away but lately he prefers sitting somewhere away from the TARDIS while he does his work. It’s more relaxing to take a stroll through space.

Speaking of work, he’s completely engrossed in a data pad. He’s scrolling through it with a stylus, occasionally stopping to click something or read longer. Once or twice, his reading is accompanied by a small holographic projection of various planets above the screen.

He’s taken to walking around the empty space, mostly following the arms of a spiral galaxy. Get his attention if you want him!]

Well, go on. I'm listening. [This is his curious "oooh shiny new knowledge" face.]

Um... well... in order to protect someone, I had to become a Knight of Ratatosk. It means that when it's dangerous, I can borrow part of Ratatosk's power to fight. Marta is under his protection too, so she can cast a little healing magic.

And who is Ratatosk? A god of some sort?

Um... [HE'S STILL NEW AT THIS] He controls all the monsters and the flow of mana, but he's asleep, so things aren't going as they should.

Monsters? I assume with Ratatosk asleep, the monsters are running free?

Yeah. Ratatosk uses the monsters to control where mana goes. Since the worlds reunited, it's been... kind of rocky.

[Considers it for a moment.] Did this Ratatosk control both worlds, then?

[blink]

... I... don't know. I could ask Tenebrae later...

Tenebrae? But, well, you don't have to. I'm just rather curious about your world. All the worlds involved here.

Tenebrae is one of Ratatosk's servants. He's helping us. [He wonders if maybe he's saying too much, but then again, it's not like anyone can come after him here for it.] I am, too! I wish I knew more, but ... I've only been involved in this for a few days. It's a lot to take in.

Oh! Oh, sorry. I didn't know you were new to it.

It's okay. I'll learn and try to explain the best I can if... if you want.

[He smiles.] I'd love that, actually. So far, the worlds people come from has been quite interesting.

I like learning about other worlds, too.

Well! Let's see, my universe. I'm a time traveller, for starters. That tends to be what people are interested in the most. It's populated with a vast number of worlds and people. I still manage to be surprised, though.

[!!!] Y-you can travel time? [He's already met Roxas, who's been to a ton of different worlds but -- damn!]

[He grins. Hurray, he gets to look impressive!] I do, yes. In fact, I really don't like to stay in one place longer than a few days, so I travel quite often.

Wow...

Don't you get tired of it? Traveling all the time, I mean.

[A softer smile.] Not at all. There's always something new to see or someone to meet. The journey is what makes it all interesting.

... Heh. Maybe you're right.

[You can practically see him repeating it in his head. 'The journey is what makes it interesting...']

[He is content with this. Maybe it will make Emil's journey more fun for him. It sounds like he's in for one.]

I'm an expert in travel, trust me.

Do you travel alone?

No, actually. Well, sometimes I do. But usually I travel with friends. Just people I meet along the way who want to see the universe.

I wish all journeys could be that simple.

Oh, they can be! Even if you have a very serious destination in mind, you can take moments to enjoy the trip there, can't you?
