[has taken off his coat and checks it over. looks rather disappointed to find a slash down the side]

My coat... [sighs] Most priests don't have swords, you know. Well, all right. Some priests do. Just it isn't exactly good for them to bang on about peace and then try to run me through.

[considers silently for a moment] Erm, Lucia, this isn't as bad as it sounds. You're not in trouble, really.

Much better. I don't know how people do that! Martha tried to talk me into it. Didn't work so well.

You wouldn't be able to stay in one place long 'nough to hold a job down, anyway.

Ah, well, we got stuck for a few months once. It was horrible. She did a test run interview with me, though, and then she decided it might be better if she took on a job.

...what'd you do all day, then?

Took walks and visited a few friends in that era. Recorded messages to the future to get my TARDIS back. Had to arrange a complex series of events for that, too. Dropped in on Martha at work. She never seemed too pleased with that. Her bosses, especially. Watched the moon landing. Always love the moon landing. People were so excited about it! The moon! Like it's some exotic wilderness! Loved it.

Well, y'know, for people who are stuck on Earth, the moon is pretty exciting. I've been stuck for a year, and being on the moon would definitely be like some exotic wilderness to me.

[grins] The moon can be fun. It's just so funny. And even once they've been there so many times, they're happy about it. Novelty of it lasts a while. [makes a face] I'd offer to hop you to the moon for a quick peek but my TARDIS can't travel in space right now. Only time.

[Grins slightly] Remember the time we tried to go golfing on the moon, but ended up in a pub instead?

--didn't break the TARDIS, did you?

[laughs] That was an excellent pub, though. Some of the best chips I've ever had.

Nah, well, I don't think so. Seems to be a problem with all TARDISes. They're locked to the location.

Really? I thought yours was the only one left.

Wellll...technically it is. Although Romana might have her's. But my selves have their's and then there's, well, the TARDIS. I think you met her?

I have, yeah. We've talked a few times. And the you before you were, y'know...you. The first you I knew. 'cept he didn't know me. Bit weird, really. Parallel Doctor.

Oh, and I met the you with the blonde hair and the cricket uniform, too. Dunno if I mentioned that yet.

I think...they might both be parallel, actually. But good! Met all them. The blond is my Fifth, by the way. Always loved that regeneration. [fond smile] Met Romana yet? Old friend of mine, also a Time Lady.

I like him. He's easy to talk to.

Briefly. Haven't seen her 'round too much lately.

He - I - was. Hopefully still am. I had loads of people traveling with me then.

Me either. She seems busy with her work. 'Course, I'm busy fending off a shark invasion, so I understand.

Yeah? I can see why. [Sticks tongue out] Almost like him more than you.

Shark invasion?

[Rose has earned a pouty face] I know I was good but honestly! Some things improve with age!

Ah, yes. The Master's rallied the sharks against the dolphins. Still trying to talk them back into peaceful negotiations but they weren't much for negotiating in the first place.

[Awww, the Doctor earns a hug] Oh, don't worry. I said almost.

....yeah, sounds like something he'd do.

[aww, hugs make the Doctor feel better] For a minute there my pride was bruised.

He's very bored, otherwise I don't think he'd bother.

[This is why we hug :D] That's a good thing every once in a while, when it's your pride.

Find something for him to do, then. I dunno. The Game of Life. I bet he could take over the board and destroy the little blue and pink figures with his little plastic car or something.

[sounds pouty but actually isn't!] My pride is quite fine, thank you.

I thought about trying Monopoly. I think he'd have fun with that. Well, once he finished arguing with me about it being a ridiculous human game and all that. I think he just doesn't want to admit I'm better at board games.

It's a bit inflated sometimes.

What 'bout Risk or Stratego or something like that? Seems like something he'd enjoy.

Nah, it's perfectly sized for me.

Actually, that's what he calls that war going on. [scratches his neck] Because, well, the only real way to beat him is if none of the species are on his side.

Whatever you say, Doctor.

Well, then, good luck with that. Sounds like you have your hands full.
