[Everyone loves Chris and Ray so here they are! It's break time at CID and since Plane breaks are never ending, they are spending it here. They luv escaping work. You'll note the amount of food on the desk - MUFFINS ARE IN THERE - signals that they expect to be a while. The fact that Chris seems to be happily explaining something of great importance to Ray is also good to note. He's even holding up something. What is it?! It's about a comic book! Yes. That's what he's holding up to Ray.

It's very important, all right?] See, Ray, he'll smash the car and then he can throw it. 'Cos that'll take care of anything.

Yeah, been a while now.

A couple of weeks, I think? Sommat like that. Weren't really keepin' track.

Yeah, something like that. A while enough to be a while.

Wonder what I gave you that key for, seein' as you don't use it.

[He gives a playful shove on Ray's shoulder.] And when's that, lucky bastard?

[Ray shoves back.] It happens sometimes.

What? Once a month, yeah?

You don't do nothing special ever?

Depends on what you're meanin' by 'special'.

Uh, like, dunno. You never have to do something outta your way?

[Ray shrugs.] Not really. I mean, sometimes I take 'em out places, yeah. But 's not like I gotta do a lot to get 'em interested. Just sorta... talk my way into things.

What if they weren't interested?

[Ray gives Chris a disbelieving look.] I find somethin' that'll get 'em interested. Not that I usually hafta, but the few times I do, still keep it to talkin', I just... change me tactics a little.

You get them talking about themselves?

Sometimes. You gotta know how to read people. Figure out what they wanna hear. [Ray smirks.] Once you know how to do it, it's easy.

Never really tried it, meself. I try to talk about stuff they'd like.

See, that's part of sayin' what they wanna hear. Say, uh... she likes music? You talk about it, even if you don't care.

Yeah but...that's just polite and stuff, ain't it? Talking about stuff she likes for her?

Call it what you like, but it don't mean that ain't what it is. Even if you say it's just 'bein' polite', what you're really doin' is pretendin' to be interested in what she's got to say.
