Apparently, sometime while I was sleeping, I got married to a really angry British woman and she calls me Gene, even though I told her I'm Fumie. And instead of going to school, I'm being called to 'bosh' things. And I don't even know what that means.

And this definitely isn't Daikoku. It's old. And British. And my glasses are glitching. I keep trying to go home but- [pops in and then out again] -...Damn it.

I don't know! I took a nap here and then I went home except it wasn't my house and so I asked the lady who lives there where I was and she yelled at me for coming home late. I didn't even know what time it was. She's grumpy.

That's my wife you're talking about, you little brat. [pauses] And Manchester is not old you git.

Well your wife yelled at me. [hands on her hips] I'm from 2026. This is really really old. Where's the wireless tower? I think it's down. And I can't find your computer.

The bloody hell do I need a computer for?

[looks horrified] What don't you need a computer for??

Everything? They're pieces of junk is what they are. Can't understand the point of the bloody things.

[she's almost faint now from this blasphemous talk] ...But you've got computers, right? Cell phones? Something?

Got a computer at the office that's better for punching than anything else. Piece of shit just gets in the way. And what the hell's a cell phone? Only technology I need is the Cortina and my damned phone, and even that I wouldn't mind throwing through a wall.

[narrows his eyes] Just what are you planning, girlie?

[excuse him while he breaks out laughing]

[glares at him] Is that a challenge?!

Fine! [puffs out chest with her serious face on] I'll bet you that I can be at least as good at this as you!

Right. So when you lose, you get to leave Tyler alone. Deal?

[startled by such a high stake] W-What? That's not...-! [bites her lip and nods firmly; can't back down now] Fine. [feels that isn't quite equal to losing Sam, so-] And you can't ever complain about me being with Sam, either!

[since when was a single bet allowed to be countered with multiple ones? stupid brat, doesn't know the rules. but Gene's a big boy, so he shrugs it off] Deal.

[Fumie says placing bets means plural, not that they get one each] Good. So, what do I have to do for you to admit I'm good? [yes, she should have asked that first]

[oh, oh, the evil grin] Simple. Solve a murder case. [let it be noted that he doesn't expect her to do this, not even remotely]

[jaw drops slightly but recovers quickly] Th-that's a bit too easy, isn't it? You can watch any police show and figure out how to solve a murder case, because that's what's usually on them.

That so? Well then, girlie, you got a better idea? Because keeping murdering scum off the streets is my job, and I'm damn good at it. Unless you wanna try your hand at a smuggling ring.

A smuggling ring? That sounds like a challenge! Is it acceptable?

Fine. There's a drug cartel holing up in the southside of the City. Carling can give you all the details. Bust them, and you win.
