11; I told you I was trouble [Yeah, you know that I'm no good]

[there is a Doctor. He is bandaged up on the wrist and is in a fresh suit. He also looks somewhat panicked.]

Lucy!

[mutters] Should've figured out an easier way to find her before...

Lucy!

Well we aren't moving, either! [glares, then swallows back anything else she's about to say and nods in Handy's direction] I do. He showed me how a short while ago. I'll do that while you two fiddle about uselessly up here.

[frowns, crouching down beside the console, before winnowing her way underneath to where she helped the Doctor before with the rewiring. at least when she's under the console, she doesn't have to worry about keeping her expression steady or keeping up appearances in front of Handy]

[identity profile] handysparehand.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
[nods at Lucy before crouching down next to the Doctor to look with the Doctor, his tone a little quieter]

Before it was all offline, though. What happened, between opening that door and now?

[identity profile] shatteredqueen.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
[she can hear you whispering, boys, she just can't make out what you're saying. but she does her best to ignore it, fumbling with the wires] Until it dies and we're left stranded. [tugs on the wires a little harder than she should and drops the screwdriver; makes an indelicate noise and fishes around for it] What setting? And what do I do when it's done?

[identity profile] handysparehand.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Nothing's dying.

[quiet voice]

You think if we open those doors again it would help?

[he hears that indelicate noise and it's time to shift back to normal speaking voice]

You all right down there?

[identity profile] shatteredqueen.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
[presses her lips together, but does as instructed, gaining a little confidence as she does so. she doesn't like the idea of being comfortable with this sort of thing, however, so as soon as she's done she scurries out from under the console, brushing herself off and stretching out her muscles]

Do you need someone to get it?

[identity profile] handysparehand.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
I could go, I just don't know if I'd be able to get back here once I dropped from the Plane. I might just end up where you picked me up from before. That happens and you're without that wire for, well for however long it takes you to get out of wherever we are.

[identity profile] shatteredqueen.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
You also told me you wouldn't hold me. That I could leave when I wanted. Was that a lie, then?

[crosses her arms, looking at Handy]

You know more than I. Can he do anything without it?

[identity profile] handysparehand.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
We need that wire, Doctor.

[thinks]

Right, well, I could drop with Lucy. If we're together and I'm holding onto her when she drops from the Plane, I should end up back here.

Or the Doctor can drop and we can wait.

[identity profile] shatteredqueen.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Doctor!

[watches him go, frustrated, before turning to the pilot's chair and kicking it in frustration, leaning against the back of it, fingers digging into the fabric]

I should leave to spite him. He knows I can't stay. [glances at Handy] Would you tell him?

[identity profile] handysparehand.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[he just stares off after the Doctor. He nearly protests, but the Doctor is gone before he can properly say anything, so he just sighs and turns his attention towards Lucy]

Kicking things won't solve anything.

[it's somewhat of a lie. He wouldn't like anything more than to kick something right about now. The way the TARDIS is going now though, he's terrified if he even looks at her the wrong way he'll do even further damage. This gets sidelined for the moment at Lucy's question.]

What we need to do is we need to get that wire. Without it we're just stuck.

[pauses, the next part said deliberately and quietly, so they are both entirely clear and just in case the Doctor decides to burst back into the room spontaneously]

Help me with this. Please. I can't get back here without you, and I don't know if He can fix this without that wire. After that, you do what you need to do, whatever that might be. All right?

[he offers a hand for her to take, should she agree with his proposition, to ensure they end up in the same place and come back to the same place]

Kicking things helps.

[Lucy frowns, considering Handy's request. she can't say she's fond of the idea of being his chaffeur, but his promise to let her do what she will afterward intrigues her]

Why? Why would you let me do that when you know he doesn't want it? Aren't you loyal to him?

[still, asking these questions is wasting time and she knows it. the Doctor won't be gone long and he certainly won't let her go without a fight, even just for something like this. so with a quick look in the direction he disappeared to, she takes Handy's hand, eyes dark]

You can answer me there. We shouldn't dally if we're to do this.

[and she takes them both back to the Plane]

[identity profile] handysparehand.livejournal.com 2009-02-05 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
[shrugs]

Yeah, well sometimes it does, I suppose.

[nods and appears back on the Plane with Lucy and begins looking around for this table the Doctor left this wire on]

It doesn't have anything to do with loyalty. You need to get back there and try to make things right if he knows. The longer you're out here with the Doctor the worse it's going to be. We all know that, and if the Doctor could step back from this all, I think He'd know that, too.

[and there it is! he grabs it and turns around to where Lucy was]

All right, ready?

[identity profile] shatteredqueen.livejournal.com 2009-02-05 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
[rather happily oblivious to the Doctor's panic, Lucy simply watches Handy as he searches around for the needed wire, scanning the Plane every now and again to see if anyone else is around]

You're so different than he is. He blinds himself to what he should know. You're smart enough to see what needs to be seen. [shrugs] I suppose you aren't so bad after all.

[nods to him when he comes back over, but doesn't take his hand immediately] When I leave, will you tell him? Or will you let him find out on his own?

[and only after Handy answers does she take them back to MJ!Ten's TARDIS, surprised to see the Doctor all ready back and panicking]

[identity profile] handysparehand.livejournal.com 2009-02-05 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
[also totally oblivious to the Doctor's panic, which is sort of ironic since the discussion at hand is how oblivious the Doctor is]

He's not blind, He just thinks differently is all, I think. He sees the forest but misses the trees at times. It's not His fault, it's just the way it is. [sniffs and rubs the back of his neck] You might not be so terrible either.

[looks thoughtful] Honestly? I think I'd let Him find out on His own. I don't really enjoy having to be the go between.

[and he let's Lucy take him back to the TARDIS to find a panicking Doctor, which is exactly what this entire scenario needs more of]

[identity profile] shatteredqueen.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
[oh for the love of--]

I took him to the Plane to get the item you said you needed and he agreed was required. I like to think I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself for five minutes while he looks for a wire, Doctor. I'm not made of glass. [and her tone grows darker] And I don't care what you seem to think will happen, Harry won't kill me. Why can't you understand that?

[identity profile] handysparehand.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
[glares at the Doctor and might be flailing a little, too]

I really don't feel like having any of us dying, which is why I went to get your alternator wire! Which you left lying around, not me!

[looks at the Doctor's substitute which obviously won't work]

But that there would've saved the day for sure, right?

[with a scowl he sets the wire on the console and backs away arms crossed, still glaring]
