[have the TARDIS walking about with a glass of some sort of wine. she's so taking advantage of having prolonged, physical projections to finally try things she couldn't before]

I will never understand the fascination with imbibing alcohol. This is the fourth one I've had and I am as unimpressed with this one as the last three. I must wonder why the Doctor insists on keeping it around.

[in other news!]

I've noticed a great deal more people arriving in this place. If we could calculate when a new being in being drawn into this nexus, perhaps we could harness that energy as a means of escape for ourselves. Has anyone tried such a thing, yet?

[scratches his head] Pinpointing the location is harder than I thought it'd be. Must have a randomizer attached to it.

[smiles and takes a drink] Oooh, still quite good. Want to try some? You might like it.

All randomizers still follow a mathematical procedure. Given time, we can find the source.

[nods easily] I hadn't tried that one yet. I'd be glad to. Shall we sit?

I'm sure we will. Just need more time.

Good idea! [and promptly sits on the ground cross-legged and takes another sip] Beruv is a lovely planet, too. We don't go there often enough.

[sits more properly beside and behind him, just a little, enough that she can run her hands through his hair as they talk] I should like to see Beruv again. This universe if vastly unfamiliar, though it shares so many similarities to our own. Where do you spend more of your days, though, Doctor? [casually leans over his shoulder to take his glass for a sip of her own]

[a bit distracted by the hair playing] Hm? Oh, Earth, mostly. But I go around other places, too, just...hadn't ventured as far as we usually do. [grins slightly and takes his glass back to sip as well, not minding that he's sharing] But it's been exciting enough anyway.

[makes a face, still leaning against his shoulder, one hand in his hair and tugging gently at the strands] There is no excitement on the planet, Doctor. What ever happened to roaming the galaxies and meeting interesting aliens to take as your companions, instead of those useless humans? I understand your fondness, but they hardly know their ways about a ship.

[pouts slightly] Just how it keeps working out, really. Right after the Time War I wasn't really feeling up to having a companion. Then there was Rose and ended up picking up a bloke named Adam but he wasn't worth it. Uhm, then there was Jack and after Rose I was turned down a lot. There was this woman, Donna, you'd like her, I think. Martha was after her and then Jack found me but then I ended up picking up the Master and I haven't exactly wanted to expose too many people to him.

I should think Earth would be the last place you'd want to expose your precious Master to, Doctor. [may or may not have pulled a little harder than was necessary at his hair] So many humans. And a Fact, as I understand it. Aren't you lonely, without races more knowledgeable of the universe?

[makes a face and mutters 'oi' but other than that, just sighs] Yeah, a bit. And actually, bit funny how that works out. Jack was trying to get into the TARDIS and you took off into the vortex trying to get rid of him. We landed at the end of the universe and that's where the Master was. [but he'd rather talk about happy things and continues on with] Oooh and you know not long ago you merged with yourself. My fifth's TARDIS merged with you. That was awkward.

[expression darkens at mention of the Master and the Fact in one sentence, and she reaches for his glass again for something to do lest she show her aggravation to his hair again. as is, she's still basically hanging over his shoulder] Merged? That shouldn't be possible. It should have caused a temporal backlash, to meet yourself. How did it not?

[still happy to gloss over her being irritated!] It almost did! Your shields were down, sorry. I was in the middle of doing some repairs and you know that goes a lot smoother when the outer shields are down. Well! We fixed everything anyway and then he was off. Nice seeing him again, though. Those were good times, eh?

[still irritated at him ignoring her irritation!] You should only drop the shields when you're certain it's safe, Doctor. You can't afford to be that sloppy. [but smiles all the same] Those times...they were good, yes. We had such wonderful adventures. And your companions were tolerable, even Tegan, for all her whinging and leaving things about. [nuzzles his cheek at the memories] I believe I liked that crew best, of all your additions. Adric and Turlough and Nyssa...at least they understood me.

[smiles fondly and ~~pets~~ pats her head] Nyssa really was fascinated with you. And I think you gave Adric a great deal of comfort. Turlough and Tegan eventually warmed up, I think.

[~~purrs~~ murmurs quietly and idly reaches for the glass of cider again] She was quite gentle, and such a quick learner. And Adric. He was almost as brilliant as you, Doctor. I rather enjoyed listening to his calculations. And Tegan's departure...I know that was hard on you, as was Turlough's. You were quite fond of those two. Moreso perhaps than some other companions you've had in the past.

[continues to idly stroke her hair] For all the fun times, that was certainly a tough regeneration, too. All the losses. It's never been easy, though. Still! It was worth it.

[continues to hang off him, idly toying with his coat sleeve] Those are not the only losses you've suffered, Doctor. But you have not lost me. Nothing can manage that.

[smiles and ruffles her hair a bit] My constant companion.

[smiles and, much as he did, impulsively (or not) leans in to kiss him softly on the cheek] The only one who matters.

[smiles and chuckles] Now then! Do you like the cider? [takes a sip himself] I'm not as much for alcohol in this regeneration but I do like wine and some brandies and hard ciders. [grins] Usually I just drink cream sodas.

It's better than what I was drinking, I will concede. Still not particularly pleasant, however. [smiles a little] It seems to have an interesting effect on my ventilation systems, however. I seem to be unable to regulate the temperature. It's quite hot right now, actually. [nuzzles him some more] Another Earth drink?

Mm, yeah. Alcohol is interesting. First time I had it was ages ago, though. [presses his hand to her forehead] You do feel a bit warm. Well, all things considered. Sure you'll be all right for another drink?

It is an...interesting...beverage. [shakes her head at his concern] Of course I'll be all right, Doctor. A few abnormalities in my functions are not enough cause for such concern.

[smiles brightly] Well then! A refill will be fine if you're enjoying it.

Mmm...I am. [nuzzle nuzzle, plays with your hair some more, Doctor] I wonder if there is a way to lock the effects from my system as you can yours?

[ponders, keeping a hand over her free one] I suppose using spare pipelines to bypass the effects and filter in water as a cooling agent would work. I can't do that from here, though. Might want to suggest it to, erm, 'me' later.
