[have the TARDIS walking about with a glass of some sort of wine. she's so taking advantage of having prolonged, physical projections to finally try things she couldn't before]

I will never understand the fascination with imbibing alcohol. This is the fourth one I've had and I am as unimpressed with this one as the last three. I must wonder why the Doctor insists on keeping it around.

[in other news!]

I've noticed a great deal more people arriving in this place. If we could calculate when a new being in being drawn into this nexus, perhaps we could harness that energy as a means of escape for ourselves. Has anyone tried such a thing, yet?

[snatches the wine glass from her and takes a sample] Well, that's why; this wine is terrible. [holds it back out to her]

[drops the glass and lets it shatter with a shrug]

[raises an eyebrow]

I only blew up the plasma television because I was very bored, and he loved it so very much. The sight of him running off, hair wild, voice panicked... it was too entertaining for me not to provoke it.

[laughs] Do you honestly believe you can save him from me? He's already lost.

Idle threats and empty promises. Words. Pretty as they are, they have no coinage here. Deeds are far more interesting.

One only challenges one's equal, and I'm afraid only the Doctor holds that status. But, feel free to try your hand at whatever you think may be effective.

Oh, but you were much better that way. [steps towards her] My pretty paradox machine.

How you whimpered! It really wasn't as difficult to break you as I thought it would be. I suppose it must've been because you're such a mess after the Time War.

[takes another step in; TARDIS, say 'bye bye' to your personal space]

It was so... satisfying, to hear the hiss and scream of steam as I tore you apart. All those precious, pathetic replacement parts the Doctor had tried to fix you up with...

[slides a gloved hand down her shoulder and arm, catching her wrist in his hand]

But nothing can heal the damage of that War, not for you and not for him, and you were easily provoked into making the Contact I needed. I suppose it's not your fault; you are only a decrepit old machine.

[leans in to murmur in her ear]

But you just did.

[laughs and lets go, turning his back on her and walking away]

The best part about alcohol, I'm told, is getting drunk.

Helps you forget things you want to forget. Helps you loosen up and enjoy things you wouldn't otherwise let yourself do. Also pretty important in a lot of... bonding rituals between males, apparently.

There are things you see... do... which you wish you hadn't seen and done. Sometimes, alcohol helps.

You've never gone out to the pub with mates, then? You'd be better off asking Gene Hunt about that one, but essentually, you get very hammered together, through various drinking games or just straight drinking, and somehow all the talking and the shared humiliation brings a group of people closer together.
