[Everyone will no doubt notice a new addition to the Plane: a giant Christmas tree. Yes, it’s decorated. Lights, ornaments, candy canes, the works. EVEN TINSEL. Tinsel rocks. Lots of tinsel, really.

There are also quite a few presents stacked under the tree. Each is addressed to a person on the Plane with hilariously appropriate - or possibly inappropriate - wrapping paper.

There is a sign near the tree which reads, “Thank you very much for helping us. Please accept a gift, completely and utterly free. It is our payment. We feel you’ve earned it! Did you know some trees stay green in the winter? But they‘re so prickly.”

At the bottom of the sign a small scribbled note reads, “We tried to bake cookies but even we wouldn’t eat those.”]

My experience hasn't exactly been pleasant when it comes to the Twins.

I haven't had any experiences with them yet, so I'll just take your word for it.

[looks around them]

Still. Christmas. That doesn't seem too bad.

It would be rude to deny a gift......

[Grins and heads forward, fishing his present out of the pile. It's a dark blue box with a bright red bow. He shakes it a bit, turning it over in his hand.]

[He does, reaching into the box curiously. He pulls out a gun that looks just like his old Webley, and at first seems unimpressed. But the more he holds it, testing the weight in his hand, the happier he seems.]

It's my old gun!

[identity profile] handysparehand.livejournal.com 2008-12-29 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Really?

[not entirely happy with the entire idea of guns, but curiosity is beating out any sort of unease]

The same type, or the same gun?

[identity profile] itsthecoat.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
[Jack, on the other hand, is absolutely gleeful]

Exact same gun. The Master melted it, a few months ago, I'd been using one of Torchwood's standard guns.

Why did he - [shakes his head, deciding that's the wrong question] -

How did they do that, how did they get it back for you if it was destroyed?

[identity profile] itsthecoat.livejournal.com 2008-12-31 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't think there was anything left of the gun.

[identity profile] itsthecoat.livejournal.com 2008-12-31 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Your answer is as good as mine, Doctor.

[identity profile] handysparehand.livejournal.com 2008-12-31 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
[studies the gun and gestures to Jack so he can hold it and look closer]

Can I?

[identity profile] itsthecoat.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
[hands it over]

Be careful. The safety's on, but its an old pistol. Then again, it has been customized by Torchwood. [He should not sound so happy when he says that.]

[identity profile] handysparehand.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
[turns the gun over in his hand, studying]

Customized? How?

[identity profile] itsthecoat.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
Just little details here and there, nothing visible unless you actually take apart the gun.

Improved aim, faster trigger response, that sort of thing.
