[Vash is sitting at the bar that the one Wolfwood had left there on the plane, with a beer in front of him, something in a brown bottle with a black cat's face on the label. He's not brooding, of course not, he's just... sitting there, staring out into space. Literally.]

I haven't seen him in weeks. I don't know if he went somewhere, or...

[Why is he even talking to himself? It's clearly Miller beer time.]

[hands in pockets, Sam stops near to Vash, a comfortable distance away]

Hey, Red Coat. Can I join you?

[looks over to him... ...] Sam! You're back!

[all smiles now] Yeah, get over here! I don't know if there's anything left behind the bar, but you can check.

Actually... [and he holds up a rather large bottle of whisky] I'm on leave. That apparently comes with a bottle of this. I'm surprised the Guv doesn't go on leave more often. [sits beside Vash and sets the bottle on the counter]

[grinning a little] They give you booze with your time off? Lucky~!

I am beginning to suspect that everyone alive in that year actually has alcohol for blood. [pops open the bottle and pours himself some, and then offers it to Vash]

I'm envious! That would sure help with the hangovers.

[briefly crawls up onto his stool, kneeling on it as he stretches out and reaches one long arm over the bar and just barely manages to snag one of the glasses on the shelf set inside of it. He scoots back to sit normally as he takes the bottle and pours himself a few fingers, then raising the glass to him] Here's to time off, then! And friends that don't let friends drink the cheap stuff!

[smiles and raises his glass] Cheers to that, then.

[downs about half his glass all at once, exhaling loudly afterwards] Now... you're really okay? The twins didn't say what happened to you.

[is far more moderate in his drink, but at Vash's question he looks down to the counter, as if very interested in the edge of it]

I'm on leave for a reason. I... [runs his tongue under his teeth, and then glances sideways at Vash, half-smiling] I'd be willing to tell you more if I had your real name.

[Vash NOT brooding? Riiiiiiight, Wolfwood would believe that when he saw water failing out of the sky. Shuffles on into the bar, hands in pockets, bag over one shoulder and trailing smoke]

Damn, Spikey. What's got your thomas today?

[looks over to him, with a distracted smile] Hmm? What do you mean?

[eye twitch] Looks like someone shot you're favorite donut.

[frowning faintly] Who would be crazy enough to waste a perfectly good donut like that?!

[shrugs and grabs a chair, flopping down next to him] See? Told ya leavin' th' bar was a good idea.

Yeah, you were right. It's nice to have a place here to relax.

[takes out a whiskey bottle from his bag] Yeah, it is. Though it needs some paint or somethin'.

[glances at him] So what happened?

[looks away from him, gazing back at a spot of stars] Not much. I've just been thinking.

[looks down at her and smiles] Hello there, Fumie. How've you been?

[smiles] Sam is all right! So things feel normal now. But what's wrong? You don't seem happy.

[... remembering now how intelligent Fumie is] It's nothing, really! I guess I just think too much sometimes.

[makes a face at that] Thinking about depressing things will only make you depressed. You should do something to cheer you up!

[grinning a little sheepishly now] You're absolutely right. Maybe I'll go buy some donuts later!

[musingly] Bean paste? I haven't tried that one before... the ones on my world are usually filled with cream or jelly.
