[Vash is sitting at the bar that the one Wolfwood had left there on the plane, with a beer in front of him, something in a brown bottle with a black cat's face on the label. He's not brooding, of course not, he's just... sitting there, staring out into space. Literally.]

I haven't seen him in weeks. I don't know if he went somewhere, or...

[Why is he even talking to himself? It's clearly Miller beer time.]

[returns the grin with one of his own, holding the whiskey bottle out to Vash[ Idiot. You're probably th' closest he's got t' a friend. There ain't many people folk like us can talk t'.

[takes the bottle, still smiling] Is that so? I wouldn't blame him for trying to start over.

[the swig he takes out of the bottle is a little more than a finger, but who's counting?]

[smiles and leans back in the chair, blowing smoke up to the non-exsistant roof] He's got a better chance than I do. If he's smart 'bout it.

[reclaims his bottle and takes a swig]

That's what you want for me. [sighs, sending out a plume of smoke and leaning back, the chair creaking] I don't know if I wanna do that stuff.

[trails off, then shakes his head, not looking at him as he grabs the whiskey bottle] I want what makes you happy. I didn't mean to push anything on you like that.

It's okay, broomhead. I know. I jus' ain't sure what'll make me happy.

[shrugs, and chews on his thumbnail] It's hard t' live when existin' been's good 'nough.

[smiles again, a real smile, though it's down at the bar and his eyes are closed to keep his eyes from watering]

[can see the curve of the smile but not his eyes with all the stupid black hair and answers with his real one]

[suddenly not paying attention to the alcohol, straightens up and turns to Wolfwood, thumping a fist over his own chest]
