008 - Wonder Twin Powers Activate

[mercwamouth]

[Deadpool's relaxin' on his plastic explosive couch again. At least he would be relaxing if he had reason to feel relaxed. He checks his cell phone for any voice mail. Still nothing. He lets out an exasperated sigh.]

*sigh*

[Not exasperated enough.]

*SIGH*

[Better.]

What am I supposed to do? After my last assignment, I'm in debt...

[Nick Fury's a douche bag.]

Everyone else is too busy with the Secret Invasion™ to hire me...

And no one here really needs a mercenary that can't shift into their worlds.

[Well then think of another option.]

[I dunno. To represent inner duality or something?]

[Deadpool stands up and looks upward, sort of yelling to nothing.]

I've made a deal with them before. Wasn't exactly one of my shining moments.

Really? What were the specifics?

[contract_star]

[Long pause.] I made a deal with them to bind the Masters' hypnotic powers, in exchange for working in their shop for two months. It was during that time that Misaki was killed, and...they asked me to help bring her back. Only they used my power to turn her into a Contractor, or something like it, temporarily. At the time I didn't...even know I was capable of something like that.

And when the Masters got their powers back, they weren't exactly thrilled.

[mercwamouth]

...How did the Masters get their powers back if you made a deal to bind them? Did the Twins welsh?

[contract_star]

[Suddenly frowns.] I...don't know. That's...I mean, I don't think the Twins have ever gone back on a deal before. I never thought about it before.

[Frown deepens.] Maybe if the Masters or someone else made a deal to get the bracelets off...

[mercwamouth]

If the Twins didn't go back on their deal, it seems more like it was your move on the Masters and less the Twins that led you to Torture Town.

Granted, it sucks that they made you mess with Misaki, but that seems like it was just part of the job. They probably would have had you do that to anybody, it was just your rotten luck that it was Misaki.

I know. I've never once denied that what happened was my own fault.

But...if someone helped the Masters in some way...

[mercwamouth]

Might have been the Twins, but even if it was, that was never part of your agreement. Just cause you work for them doesn't make them your friend.

I'm not lookin' to use the Twins to get back at anyone, I'm just lookin' for employment, and they just might be able to help. I think I know what I'm getting into.

[contract_star]

[Heavy sigh.] All I can tell you is, don't get into something that you think you might regret later. Don't tie yourself to them if you can help it.

[mercwamouth]

I'm a merc. The only thing I'm tying are loose ends. And maybe some tripwire.

[contract_star]

[Slight smirk.] Planning ahead, are you?

[mercwamouth]

You never know.
