[Enter the Griever! As always, the blond hair, glowing red eyes and echo-y voice pretty much guarantee you won't recognize him as Chris. He appears with some momentum, and smacks into the wall of the ballroom. A hand is at his side, where some green blood seeps slowly through his fingers. He looks pretty incredulous.]

Who actually gives a little girl a sniper—?! [Realization dawns!] ...rifle. [He knocks his head back against the wall. Guess who just discovered his merge with Henrietta?] You've got to be kidding.

They're witnesses. You... have to.

No, but that doesn't matter.

I'm doing what I'm supposed to.

No... that doesn't matter. I do what I'm supposed to.

[Guhwhat?] Think otherwise? Why... I don't understand. I do what I'm supposed to, and that means I'm doing what's right.

First signore Crowley wanted me to think otherwise about telling signore Jose things, and now you want me to think otherwise about killing witnesses. Why? I don't understand.

[...] That... doesn't matter, though. They--we can't let them tell, because even if nobody believe it, they still told. There can't be any witnesses. We can't allow that.

[Confused expression, possibly lost and a little hurt.] I'm sorry.

[identity profile] fireintothesky.livejournal.com 2008-10-26 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Still confused, because the Seed of Doubt has been placed in her mind.] I guess. I--but, Chris, the long run doesn't matter anyway for us.

Everyone else? [She presses the heel of one hand against her eye.] That--no one else matters. The fratello matters, the orders matter.

[He shoulders sag for a moment; there's a little huff, a relieved sigh, because she knows the answer to this one.] Yes. Yes, that.
