[Somebody's returned to the plane-- and this time she's got a rather large picnic basket hanging from the crook of her elbow. Kneeling, she takes the red-and-white checked blanket tucked into the top of the blanket and spreads it over the ground. From the basket she unpacks paper plates, forks, napkins, and...

And PIES. Lots and lots of fresh, hot, delicious-smelling home-baked pies.]

I promised pie, and pie I deliver. Anybody want a slice?

[Pauses with the fork suspended in delicate equilibrium between mouth and plate.] A hundred years?

...It's an old family recipe.

[smiiiiiiile.]

But... [Ack.] What year are you in?

Well, 2008, if you must know. Late October. Getting close to Halloween!

Um... I don't... have to know. I just thought... [Ffff, she takes a bite of pie, which allows her to avoid saying anything else for the moment.] It's different for everybody here.

Oh, I know, it's perfectly alright. I just don't suppose it really matters here, since we're all here at the same time. Or something-- I'm not really an expert on time.

[Poking at her pie for a moment] Um... have you been in Oz for a long time?

Little over a hundred years now, give or take, since the first time I ended up there, I s'pose. Boy, it's funny to think about!

Really? [._.] Then... how old are you?

I'll be a hundred and seventeen in May!

[aksdj Ch-choking on pie] R-really?!

[Swallows carefully] Oh. Um. [T-tries to think of something to say. ._.]

I look good for my age, don't I? [griiiin.]

Oh, yes, very much. Or very good. [ldkjad blush]
