[Sam has his hands in his pockets, casually strolling about the Astral Plane. Is he a bit shaken up? Maybe, but he's doing his best not to show it]

'ey, Gene? What do you say to going to the pub? Could do with a Scotch myself.

Don't start with me, Tyler. [shifts uncomfortably, then grabs his coat] You wanted the pub? Get a move on, then.

[nods, but when he speaks his voice is firm] Guv, we need to talk.

[which is the wrong thing to say, really] There's nothing to talk about, Tyler.

[giving no ground] Actually, Gene, I think you'll find that there is.

[finally looks at him, a nasty scowl on his face. because damnit, he hates it when you use his name, Sam, especially in that tone of voice] I don't care what happened to you, Tyler, but don't you ever address me like that. We don't have anything to talk about. Now do you want to go to the pub or not?

Don't lie to me. We can go to the pub after we talk.

I don't lie, Tyler, and don't ever suggest I do. We're not having a talk. I don't do chats.

Because you're too much of a coward for them.

[wrong thing again, and screw the fact he just killed you, Sam, Gene's got you slammed up against a wall. he still won't look you in the eye, though] I am not a coward, DI Tyler.

[much to his shame, Sam whimpers] Get off me!

[stays a moment, then shoves Sam away with a disgusted grunt, whether at himself or his DI, he isn't sure] Then stop saying we have to talk and just get your arse moving so I can get pissed.

No! [and he reaches out, grabbing Gene's arm] We talk first.

[shakes him off angrily] You want to talk? Fine! But not here and not like this and not before I get a bloody drink.

Because the damn bastard dragged me to that...box...thing of his and I couldn't get out, that's why! Gave me a radio to keep in contact and I ran everything from there. [glares] I didn't abandon my boys, Tyler, so don't even try.

Then don't abandon us now. If you leave CID... [hands in jacket pockets] So. Where are we going to talk?
