[Ianto’s stood on the Astral Plane, looking confused and more than a little concerned over his situation.]

…it must be the Rift. It doesn’t make sense any other way. But why didn’t we pick up anything on the scans? We’d just about got the monitors working again. We should have been able to tell if there was any activity. Unless they were faulty again... that really wouldn’t be all that surprising given how things are right now. Oh, God… Tosh… I can’t just leave her by herself. I’ve got to find a way back.

[He reaches up to his ear, attempting to work his already faulty headset. Unable to get it to work, he sighs, running a hand through his hair.] Hopefully she’ll think of something. The Rift Manipulator; maybe if she could get that working… no… there’re too many risks in that.

[He frowns, unable to think of any other solutions.] But there’s got to be something she can do…

[Ianto buries his head in his shoulder, tightening his hold on him slightly.] I've missed you...

[Jack can't say the same, he's already returned to the Ianto of his time line, so he instead kisses the side of his head, hold possessive]

[Ianto nuzzles into his neck, relaxing into his embrace.]

[Jack just hold him there for a little while, though he does finally speak up]</>.....Promise me you and Tosh won't do it.

[Ianto pulls back slightly, looking more than a little upset by what he's asking.] We can't just leave you.

Yes, you can; you did before, and it was the right thing to do Ianto.

[He doesn't reply, finding himself unable to promise not to.]

[Jack sighs, frowning] Ianto, you need to listen to me on this. If you try and break in....the Doctor knows who you are, what your relation to me is.

I don't need another death on my hands.

[Looks relieved. Part of him thinks it might not be so simple, but he ignores it for now] You're doing the right thing, trust me.

[Yep, there's that nagging feeling again; Jack just sighs, not saying anything else]

[Ianto moves to bury his head again.]

[Jack let's him, his arms wrapping tightly around Ianto, holding close, his chin resting lightly atop his head]

[He stays quiet for a while before speaking, not moving his head from Jack's shoulder.] Does Tosh really die?

[Jack 's expression saddens at the question, but he doesn't dance around it] She was shot, died in the medical bay.

[He doesn't reply, just tightens his hold on Jack.]

Jack let's his eyes fall closed, hand rubbing Ianto's back soothingly. Guilt is visible on his face; there was no need to tell Ianto Tosh was dead in his world, it had just been Jack being selfish]

[Ianto stays as he is, just concentrating on not crying. He doesn't want to break down in front of Jack. Not even for Tosh.]

[[Jack eventually pulls away slightly, though only enough to kiss Ianto's forehead softly] Sit down [It's more of a statement than a request, Jack moving down and tugging into with him even as he speaks]

[Ianto sits, leaning back into Jack as soon as he has.]

[Jack's arms wrap around Ianto's waist, pulling him back against his body so that his chest is pressed against Ianto's back. He rests his chin on Ianto's shoulder, not saying anything but instead kissing Ianto's cheek, nuzzling him fondly]

[Ianto closes his eyes, biting down on his lip in an attempt to keep himself together.]
