[and he's hit again, but afterwards rushes Gene]

Are you selectively deaf, you pathetic relic? I purposely fit my metabolism to be that of the human equivalent of a man in my physical age range, weight, and height. I wanted to prove that I could bloody well keep my word when I wanted to, and I was not about to cheat to prove it.

[he tries to give Gene a smash in the face as well]

[suddenly, for emphasis, he's using Gene's voice] And I suppose the lower temperature of my body is just a cold? And that your bloody Cortina suddenly grew wings and flew to get on top of that building?

[he slips back into his regular voice and rubs where Gene punched]

If it is any consolation, I had intended on retiring before I had been forced back into the business.

[he once more gets up in Gene's space, seething] No. I was ripped off a bloody planet, brought to the one I'm stuck on now, was almost killed, then infected with a seemingly incurable virus, given a chance to think I might have been able to escape, only to be abandoned to my death by my own best enemy.

[he pauses, then laughs]

Then again, the last part isn't true. I declined the chance to survive.

[stares him down] So why the bloody hell are you still alive?

[then he grins widely and promptly touches Gene in the form of patting the man on the shoulder] Then I expect you shall have to learn to deal with me, Mr. Hunt.
