[it's a crumbling bit of stone and sitting on the edge of it is Wolfwood, a bottle of Wild Turkey in one hand and a bloody piece of paper in the other. he looks down at the paper, snarls, crumples it and tosses it before taking a long drink from the bottle. Setting it down he digs out his cigarettes, lits up and inhales, leaning forward and frowning. He doesn't move after that, the smoke curling around his head, and his expression cold.]

Banged up and clingy but otherwise fine considering.

[seems lost in thought, then nods] You saved her. That's important.

Yeah, someone does. Looks like I'm th' one that's gotta shoulder it.

Someone always does. That's the catch with choices. They stay with you.

[smiles thinly] Preachin' t' th' choir; preachin' t' th' choir.

[laughs a little] Forgive me, Father.

[blows smoke and relaxes slightly] Nah, it's good.

If you say so. [nods slightly] If you ever do need to talk, I understand. But! For now, best to focus on her, I imagine.

She's back home with her folks. The rest of the town's hanging out there, or at the doctor's for the other people that got hurt.

Maybe they'd like to have you around?

Mebbe later on. I ain't in a good mood right now.

I figured as much. Still, you've got all the time in the world out here.

Yeah, that I do.

[ponders] Time exists here, though. Isn't that strange? It's here but it's almost suspended.

Really? [glances at him and frowns] Vash was saying I've been gone hours.

[nods and rubs his ear] Time's all tangled and paused and rewound here. I imagine the effects are rather varied.

That don't sound healthy for people up here.

It makes me feel like I need to sneeze, actually.

Jus' as long you don' sneeze on me.

Nah, I'm polite about sneezing, I think.
