[It started slowly. Faintly. Even almost as a joke... or 602 thought it's a joke.
It apparently wasn't, and he has to realize that when he witnesses the letters born in front of his eyes 'G O D I S N O W H E R E' . The wall of his room's slowly covered by the phrase.
"God Is Now Here" or is it "God Is Nowhere" he can read both everywhere, and he's not sure which one he finds more terrifying.
Terrifying. Yes that's the word. 602 is scared, and it gets worse as he looks around and his room is decorated with dark red letters, repeating the same even darker sentences. 602 tries to keep the unholy scream inside as he hurries to the door to get away, but as he stumbles out the corridor it's covered too. Everything is written on, every surface...
602 lets out a hysteric laugh, but it frees the screaming too. It's not just a simple scream. It's a cry of something ancient in madness, shaking the cheesy pictures of landscapes on the walls, the loose doorknobs, the door frames...
Before he himself knows he's already dashing down the stairs and outside to where there are no walls.]
((OOC: The sentences are visible to others too, but only appear around Gabriel. They could be read either as "God is now here", or "God is nowhere". ))

Thanks, for the time being it'll do. Was there any monster in the cupboards, Officer? [He asks though his tone isn't amused, more like somehow soft. He holds up the article.] So this' what makes ya scream, huh. But what they say, it's not true, you know that? I could burn this if ya want.
no subject
[her expression darkens when he holds up the article, but his comment surprises her. he's right, of course; the article isn't true. but she doesn't know that] Why do you say that? [she holds out her free hand for him to give it back to her]
no subject
Careful with that, what if ya're Snow White. [Points at the apple.]
I just know, Officer. Back there you've helped me without a word. It could've been a trap or ya could got hurt too. [He shrugs, as he starts on on of the candy bars casually.] Ya're brave, 'n that's why you're afraid to hurt people. [He's not saying this as a compliment, he's just stating the facts.] So chill, missy. I don't know who's mojo's behind this, but it's an unfair one.

[as she listens to what he has to say, a bit of hope forms in her expression. but she's still skeptical--and too scared to accept his word without any evidence] Being brave doesn't mean you won't get somebody killed. [she sighs] But you're right--whatever this place is, it's designed.
Here. [she gestures at the article, holding out her hand insistently for him to return it]
no subject
But it wouldn't be your fault, girl. You're not responsible in that case. [Wonders about her words, though.] Designed... hmm, so the peeps who're doing all this Halloween-fest know us? That's what ya're saying?
Oh, yes here. [He grins then, and hands the clipping, but oops, before he hands it over it catches on fire. Of course, it's not a real fire, he's just messing with her at this point.]

[but she nods, easily shifting back into analysing the situation. this sort of theorising and detective work feel like second nature to her] It's too personal. Not exactly random acts we just 'appen to run into. Whatever this is for, it's deliberate.
[she reaches to take the pamphalet--but gasps when it bursts into flame] You absolute--put it out! [her expression is horrified as she tries to snatch it anyway, meaning to put it out herself. that's the only clue to her identity that she has, real or not, and she isn't just going to give it up]
no subject
'S actually frightening. Thinking that someone, or someones are doing this to us for some reason. [They need a lesson about not toying with people like this...]
[But then he chuckles and waves the clipping a bit.] Or what? If you don't see it you won't go emo over it. It might not be true at all, why would'ya want to keep it?
no subject
Frightening, maybe, but there's too much evidence pointing to it to ignore the idea. [her tone is firm. after all, she knows it's what they'll have to face, even though she doesn't like the thought any better than he does]
[at his taunting, her mind is too focused on that clipping--on the flames covering it, on her need to save it--for her to think through her response. and so the truth comes tumbling out between gritted teeth as she continues her attempt to snatch from him] Because it's all I have of me!
no subject
Damn, girl... [He sighs and tosses the clipping back at her, annoyed. Not at her, mostly at their situation.] It's the most awful clue you could get, and you're still clinging to it like this! That's mad, ya know.
[He starts on his other candy bar then, for a little distraction.] Do you think we know 'em? The... whoever guys who do this to us?
no subject
[but she sighs at that question, reminded that he's just as scared of what's happening here as she is. she folds the article, tucking it safely back into her pocket] They know us. Really know us, I mean. So yeah, chances are high.
no subject
Perfect. [He grumbles as he eyes the wrapping of the candy bars in his hand.] Where were ya heading when you bumped into me?
no subject
[she's already done some of that, and she's not sure she's ready to try it again yet--particularly if he's going to panic every time they see a wall]
no subject
Nah, of course not. I'll just... Ya know, I'm gonna stand here, at this exact point until something happens. [His best idea. Really.]
