[On the Plane appears... a round, black, hovering robot. It bobs along for a bit, apparently making its way to the kitchen. Just outside, it stops, hovering in place for a bit.

And then the lid opens and Jacqli pops out of it. Looks like someone's making a habit out of odd entrances. At least she's not naked this time?]

Well, since I have no time back home at the moment... I may as well make time here. [Faint smirk] For an annoying, interfering machine, I guess it has its advantages.

[And into the kitchen she goes, grabbing a piece of fruit from a basket on the counter before she begins rummaging through the refrigerator for something to drink.

Hopefully no one cares too much about her robot parked, still hovering, right outside the damn door...]

[Meanwhile, Jacqli spots this and comes outside, nomming on her piece of fruit. She watches Isaac for a second... and then shakes her head.]

Lift and thrust. Mainly, fluctuating the power to the rockets, to keep it from going too high or dropping too low.

[She walks over, crouches down beside the still-floating robot and points accordingly, should Isaac wish to look as well.]

[Isaac peers in, following her points, nodding a bit as she speaks] So like, pushing against the ground?

[Nod nod] For the most part. Though it does has more to do with the air between the ground and the robot than the actual ground.

[She looks back up at Isaac.] So if you don't have robots like this... what do robots look like in your world?

Well, we don't have any! I guess the closest thing we have are golems or something. They're powered by psynergy, and usually not pleasant to be around.

Golems? We have some of those. They're annoying creatures who seem to have nothing better to do than to roam around and make trouble for people.

[Wait.] Psynergy?

Sounds about right. You don't want to be on the business ends of their fists, at any rate.

Yeah it's...magic, I guess, but I've never thought of it that way!

[Isaac pulls away quickly, so as to save his poor noggin, then shrugs at her question.]

It just...is. It's a part of me as much as my arms or legs are.

[She blinks when he pulls away, looks up at the robot... and gives a small, amused "hmm" as she stands as well.]

So it's something that comes from the self, then?

I think so, but there's something environmental about it. It's...not very well documented these days.

So if it's a part of you... what do you do with it?

I'll see if I can borrow some of Kraden's research. It's kind of his life's work, so you're probably better off reading that than talking to me about it.

Mmm, well, I'm a Venus adept, so I can control earth and rocks and plants and the like. There are also Mars, Mercury and Jupiter adepts that can control fire, water and wind respectively.

So you're limited to a certain affiliation? I see. I've never heard of anything like that. In my world, a Reyvateil is only limited by what she can imagine.

Sort of. We can use Djinn - ah, little elemental spirits - to augment or alter the kind of Psynergy we can use, but it's usually weaker than our native elements.

Ah...what's a Reyvateil?

A Reyvateil is a woman who is connected to the Tower - what my world is built around. They use song magic. Whatever it is a Reyvateil sings, whatever feelings she puts into it, the Tower will make it real.

It can be, yes. [Nod] It would depend on what the Reyvateil herself is capable of, of course.
