[On the Plane appears... a round, black, hovering robot. It bobs along for a bit, apparently making its way to the kitchen. Just outside, it stops, hovering in place for a bit.

And then the lid opens and Jacqli pops out of it. Looks like someone's making a habit out of odd entrances. At least she's not naked this time?]

Well, since I have no time back home at the moment... I may as well make time here. [Faint smirk] For an annoying, interfering machine, I guess it has its advantages.

[And into the kitchen she goes, grabbing a piece of fruit from a basket on the counter before she begins rummaging through the refrigerator for something to drink.

Hopefully no one cares too much about her robot parked, still hovering, right outside the damn door...]

[Meanwhile, Jacqli spots this and comes outside, nomming on her piece of fruit. She watches Isaac for a second... and then shakes her head.]

Is there something wrong?

Ah! I was just looking! I've....never seen anything like this before!

Never? They don't have anything like it in your world?

Not at all! How does it float?

Lift and thrust. Mainly, fluctuating the power to the rockets, to keep it from going too high or dropping too low.

[She walks over, crouches down beside the still-floating robot and points accordingly, should Isaac wish to look as well.]

[Isaac peers in, following her points, nodding a bit as she speaks] So like, pushing against the ground?

[Nod nod] For the most part. Though it does has more to do with the air between the ground and the robot than the actual ground.

[She looks back up at Isaac.] So if you don't have robots like this... what do robots look like in your world?

Well, we don't have any! I guess the closest thing we have are golems or something. They're powered by psynergy, and usually not pleasant to be around.

Golems? We have some of those. They're annoying creatures who seem to have nothing better to do than to roam around and make trouble for people.

[Wait.] Psynergy?

[grand_gaia]

Sounds about right. You don't want to be on the business ends of their fists, at any rate.

Yeah it's...magic, I guess, but I've never thought of it that way!

This is true. [Faint smirk] It might hurt if they came down on your head suddenly.

Really? [She's really interested!] So then, how do you think of it?

[Isaac pulls away quickly, so as to save his poor noggin, then shrugs at her question.]

It just...is. It's a part of me as much as my arms or legs are.

[She blinks when he pulls away, looks up at the robot... and gives a small, amused "hmm" as she stands as well.]

So it's something that comes from the self, then?

I think so, but there's something environmental about it. It's...not very well documented these days.

[Hey look, another blonde derpface. He's more interested in the robot she parked outside, though.]

[He stands on his tiptoes, trying to see inside. GOD DAMN IT BEING SHORT.]

[THEY CAN BE SHORT TOGETHER AND SHAKE THEIR FISTS AT THE TALL PEOPLE! ... But first, she's going to have a little fun. She's noticed the blonde boy's staring, so she gives it a little command from inside...

And the robot suddenly scoots toward Roxas a few inches!]

Whoa—! [Roxas yelps in surprise and falls backward. It's a great end to the day. He recovers quickly though, and tries to roll away.]

[She grins, clearly amused! But she schools her features back to neutrality before she walks back outside to properly greet him. The robot stays put.]

It's not going to hurt you.

[Menzies looks curiously up and down the robot before she heads into the kitchen after Jacqli. she crosses to the counter to get herself some coffee] So, get a new toy?

[Of course the detective would just brush it off. Jacqli remains casual as well, pouring herself a glass of what looks like limeade.]

Well, it's actually a very old toy. It's new to me though, so I suppose it counts. [She nods once to her.] Hello again, detective.

[a hovering round robot definitely doesn't escape his notice, but he stays atop the coliseum for a bit, watching it out of the scope of his sniper rifle for a bit until it comes to a stop outside the kitchen. needless to say, he's rather surprised when he sees a young girl pop out of it. that alone is enough to make him come down and over to investigate. after a cursory look-over of the robot, North heads into the kitchen to find the young girl. she and the robot are much shorter than he originally thinks.]

Interesting vehicle you have out there. Gotta admit it's the first time I've ever seen anything like it.

[Jacqli has just finished pouring herself a glass of what looks to be limeade, so as she's setting the pitcher aside, she's taking notice of him out of the corner of her eye. Tall, full-body armor... interesting. She's not at all intimidated (because she's a cocky little thing deep down), though she is a bit wary, even if he doesn't sound like he's going to try anything. So, she simply carries on as she normally would, and even takes a sip of her drink before looking to him to properly answer.]

It's ancient technology in my world - one of the few types of security sentries that wasn't lost through the eras. [She nods, looking him up and down to indicate his armor.] And I've never seen anything like that before.

[he chuckles and gestures vaguely with one arm while the other casually slings the sniper rifle onto his back.] Fair enough. Sentry technology, huh? Interesting.

[now that she's spoken, he's definitely re-evaluating his original assessment in terms of her age, and walks to the fridge to grab a drink of his own, but he isn't exactly thirsty. he's just grabbing one as an excuse to study her a bit more] I'm Agent North Dakota, by the way. What should I call you?
