002 :: Sheep happen to like water too~

[ Well this is a spot he hasn't explored yet! Kiran's amazed at seeing how massive the Bath House is, and he thinks that it's a good time as any to give it a whirl~

He thinks he's alone so first part of the program is to try the outdoor baths. After the requisite cleansing, he sinks into the hot water with a contented sigh. ]

I should've scouted this place earlier...


[ Afterwards, he will take to exploring the building, going ever upwards and checking the rooms -- will he find other people in there? Will he find something interesting? Musing to himself -- ]

This is pretty neat! You can even hold gatherings in here!

Nice to meet you! Yeah, I know, right? I'd think everybody would want to come here, relax a little, do some yoga... The people around here need to learn proper stress management!

[Doc does catch sight of those wounds, and he leans forward, looking at them curiously] Hey, are you a soldier? That's a lot of scars! Do you really still have all your fingers and toes?

[and yes, he's ducking down to take a look at Kiran's feet now]

It's knowledge people take for granted it seems-- ??

I-- [ At the strange question, Kiran wriggles his fingers and kind of steps back a bit at Doc's sudden perusal. ] I am! Well, the scars aren't from fighting, really. I'm also a Clothsmith-- armor-smith.

[ While what his feet and part of his legs that are exposed by the yukata show a scar or two, it was nothing compared to his forearms. ]

I'll say!

[Doc sort of marvels at Kiran's toes for a moment before he straightens] You make armor out of cloth? [his tone is skeptical] Yeah, no offense, but that doesn't sound like it'd be very helpful. Have you ever thought about trying metal? You might get less scars!

Oh no! "Cloth" is a name. The armors themselves are made out of Orichalcum, Star Dust Sand, and Gamanion.

[ Kiran shrugs and looks at his forearms before folding his arms into the yukata sleeves. ] Those and, well, human blood for repairs. Thus the scars.

You fix armor with your blood!? [now Doc sounds alarmed--and a bit disgusted] Wow, that must suck. Are you sure you can't patch it with something else? I mean, the metal probably doesn't care. Unless it's like...I don't know, living metal? But that'd be pretty crazy. [he laughs uncomfortably, having a sinking feeling that he's onto something with that] Uh..it's not living armor, is it? Does it follow you here?

[ Bit of an uncomfortable chuckle. ] It's part of the job, and you're right in your guess: the Cloths are considered living things.

[ He ponders on that question. ] It doesn't really follow, but I can call it to me. I think Master brought Aries along.

Do you want to see?

[okay, now Doc just looks disturbed] Uh. Wow. No, that's okay! [he puts his hands up, flailing somewhat, as his voice goes shrill] I've been attacked enough times for one day, thanks! And I like my blood where it is!

[ Oh what is this~? A slightly impish expression crosses Kiran's features, before he gives in to a bit of laughter. ] No! I'm not going to fight you-- if that's what you're thinking.

[ Though Kiran idly wonders if he can summon the Cerberus Cloth and have it chase after Doc for laughs. ]

[Doc is skeptical--and that expression doesn't help]

You might not, but what about the armor? It's alive and it likes blood!

[ Kiran chuckles some more. ] They're not a bloodthirsty beasts! Cloths are tied to their wearer's heart and will so if I'm in danger it'll protect me; but if I'm fighting out of malice or personal gain, it'll leave me.

[docinawall]

...oh. [he calms down--though he's still skeptical] Are you sure they don't just go evil if you get mad? They sound a little like AI. [thoughtfully] Well, except that those are evil and insane all by themselves.

What was the name of your armor?

[mentally, he's really, really hoping it wasn't a Greek letter...]

[ Shake of his head. ] They're not like that at all. They're old-- [ "beasts", he'd say; an affectionate term for him. ] artifacts more like, passed down from generation to generation. And they're definitely not evil, that I can assure you.

[ Brief raise of dotbrows at the question; he hasn't had to introduce his Cloth by itself, so it gives him a warm sensation to say: ] Aries, the Golden Ram.

Really? So, what's it want if it's not evil? [because he's used to most things that get in your head wanting to kill people and take over the universe, so this is a novel concept]

[...oh no, that's a Greek god, isn't it? no wait, isn't it Roman? and isn't that a god of war!? Doc's mind races for a minute, but since Kiran is so insistent that it's not evil, he decides to give him the benefit of the doubt and waits for Kiran's answer]

[ hum hums~ ] What it wants?

[ after more hum humming ] It wants what I want, basically. We have a common goal and that's to uphold justice and protect mankind under the guidance of Athena.

[ they were talking about gods, yes? >:3 ]

So you're, like, trying to save the universe? [Doc brightens] Cool! Man, the soldiers I know really aren't like that.

[and he's going to focus on that part because Aries and Athena working together just sounds...weird]

Along those lines, yeah. I guess soldiers in themselves come differently -- you're a medic I take it?

[ Doc may be confusing Aries and Ares :< Can't blame him though. ]

Wow, how'd you know? [he's excited that Kiran picked up on that; most people assume he's a doctor]

For one, you call yourself "Doc", and for two, you're in fighting gear. Unless that's common fashion where you're from...?

Yeah, uh, I only call myself that because that's what the guys call me. I'm actually Medical Officer DuFresne.

[armor is totally common fashion in Halo-verse! Doc looks shocked at that suggestion] Huh? "Fighting gear"? No, this is just armor. I'm a pacifist. [a pacifist who joined the army...]

Uh... yeah, you need armor when you're on the field so you don't get hurt.

[ Odd little smile -- ] You're funny, Doc~

Well, yeah, but I don't fight!

Really? [he looks rather happy about that statement, actually. you're a cool guy, Kiran] Hey, I don't think anybody's ever called me that before. Oh! Do you want to join my online circle of friends?

[ Kiran opens his mouth for a retort but-- you know what? He'll roll with it. For now. He doesn't have the heart to rain down on someone who sounds pretty happy after all--

I mean, sure we can be friends, but why-- what do you mean by "online"?

Wow, great! [under his helmet, Doc is grinning widely] We should do yoga sometime, too.

Uh...on the internet? [he's really good at explaining things]

I'm cool with yoga. But what's the internet?

[docinawall]

[Doc stares] You don't have the internet where you're from!? Oh man! What sort of world is it? It's a moon, isn't it?

The internet's like...a place on the computer where it can link up to other computers. And you can all talk to each other! And make friends, and watch videos... Like, there are lots of great cat videos! Oh, and like, how-to videos. They're a great way to increase my medical skills!
