002 :: Sheep happen to like water too~

[ Well this is a spot he hasn't explored yet! Kiran's amazed at seeing how massive the Bath House is, and he thinks that it's a good time as any to give it a whirl~

He thinks he's alone so first part of the program is to try the outdoor baths. After the requisite cleansing, he sinks into the hot water with a contented sigh. ]

I should've scouted this place earlier...


[ Afterwards, he will take to exploring the building, going ever upwards and checking the rooms -- will he find other people in there? Will he find something interesting? Musing to himself -- ]

This is pretty neat! You can even hold gatherings in here!

[Look closely and you might spot a Master, meditating in one of the rooms~]

[ Kiki takes his time going up the stairs, dressed in a fresh yukata; no fun in rushing after all, specially after the relaxing bath, and he senses Master's Cosmo coming from one of the rooms. It's a familiar kind of feeling and so he happily goes up another flight of stairs to find him --

And he stops right in front of the closed door. He remembers attempting to prank Master or just bullrush him when he was younger; but he's too old for that now, and so he just makes his presence known with a gentle ping of his Cosmo. ]

[A ping, which is responded to with an invitation to come in. Inside, Mu rouses himself quietly, unfolding his legs and stretching backwards. When Kiki enters, the elder ram smiles]

Certainly a much kinder greeting than simply depositing yourself on my lap, hm?

[ And enter he does! He gives a sheepish smile as he closes the door -- ] It was easier back then, with a sneaky size.

[ Padding across the room. ] And I'm too old for that kind of thing now.

[Mu rearranges himself in a somewhat more relaxed pose and gestures that Kiki sit with him]

Size means little - Aldebaran could sneak up on me if he tried.

I assume you've been to the baths?

True, but I've yet to see him sit on your lap~ [ He sits in a similar relaxed manner beside Mu. He nods at the question. ] Yeah. Been a while since I had a good soak. Almost tempted to take a nap but I wanted to take a look at the place first.

I've spent a fair share of nights here. The baths are quite wonderful, but I think the beds leave something to be desired.

[ Amused sound -- ] Nothing beats the bed back home.

[ Must be the combination of all those different textures -- differing levels of comfortable softness and warmth. He is pensive for a moment, thinking about how to phrase his question. ] It will be Saga and Kanon's birthday soon. I was thinking of getting something for Saga, at least.

The bed I left in Jamir is still the best, I think.

Hmm. Last year I restored the cloth of Gemini, but otherwise I don't know what Saga would like.

It's... it feels strange. [ Idly, he traces a finger along the tatami weaves. ] He probably knows "Kiki" from his reality and I-- I don't know him at all and yet, I feel like there are things I have to know that maybe the other Kiki knows.

The only way to learn is to ask. It's something I've been quite remiss in, as well.

Yeah. The Plane's weird but-- at least, I got to meet some of those I haven't had the chance of meeting. It's like a second chance.

[Something about that seems to strike Mu, and his face turns to that carefully schooled look that Kiran may remember means he's hiding something.]

Mm. In some cases, yes.

[ -- a look that he had seen much too often during the course of his growing up. Kiki knows when Mu means to keep something from him, and back then, he knew it wiser to keep quiet. But now -- ]

Really? What happened?

[And there's that distance again.]

This Plane has taken away as much as it's given.

[ Yeah, no. Kiki's not taking that. He understands the purpose behind hiding things from him when he was little, but things have changed. He turns to better look at Mu -- while his stance is relaxed, his gaze is studying. ]

You can tell me. I want to know.

[ Not a plea, but an invitation. ]

[It surprises him. He's so used to Kiki simply accepting the quiet. And though he opens his mouth to speak, he finds the words don't come. Mu shakes his head.]

In time, maybe. But not now.

[not_a_lamb_nor_ram]

[ A very brief look akin to that of rejection crosses Kiki's face before he regains a respectfully neutral stance. ] 'Maybe'

[ Then half-amused -- ] Are they that bad?

Maybe. It's something's find difficult to speak about, that's all.

Offer's always open if you need to get it off your chest.

[ He then lies back and stretches out on the tatami in silent resignation -- though no way he's giving up on this. People back home hide enough things from him. ]

[There's a beat, and Mu speaks again, blatantly changing the subject.]

There's food about somewhere. I believe it's Japanese cuisine.

[ Kiki had taken to focusing on the layout of the ceiling, hands spread out his sides until the thought of food sufficiently distracts him -- ]

Really? I haven't thought of looking for the kitchens in here. Where can we find them?

[ Food sounds like a real good idea right now. ]

Inside on the first floor, I believe. We were trapped in here for awhile, some time ago, and the food simply made its way to our rooms most of the time.

Want to flick down, then? I guess the Japanese bath house experience wouldn't be complete without the food...

Come to think of it, I didn't do that knocking down a serving of milk tea. Or was it coffee with milk?

[ Propping himself up on his elbows. ]

I could stand to eat something.

[The second comment gets Kiki something of a smile.] I'm afraid I don't know. I always took the tea plain.
