[So Mu is standing somewhere fairly busy. At his feet is an ordinary cardboard box. He is staring into this box with a mix of amusement and exasperation.

The box, or something inside it is mewling.]

Well, you lot have certainly made today an interesting one, I must say. You're all making me feel terribly old.

[On the side of the box, in abhorrently poor writing, is "KITTENS".]

[Guy kneels down to offer a gloved finger to the kittens.]

I think I've got my hands full with His Majesty's rappigs. What do you plan on doing with these?

[It is immediately latched onto by half the litter.]

I've no use for them. The mother is a stray and it took me awhile to catch them all.

Not a cat person I take it?

[Guy laughs and lifts one up out of the box, gentle and careful.]

I think a ginger tabby would suit you pretty well, right?

[He seems to be half addressing Mu and half addressing the orange kitten he's holding.]

[omg kittens? really? She approaches, curious, her own little kitten perched happily on her shoulder. It seems just as interested as she is!]

Mu? What's this?

One of the strays around the Sanctuary gave birth some time ago. I managed to collect them all today.

[She looks in the box.... and her eyes light up! She covers her mouth with both hands and gasps at the CUTE!!]

They're so adorable!! Do they have names? Can I pick one up? [She's kneeling beside the box now, for a closer look.]

[he glances down at the box with a soft smile] Children, in my experience, often do.

[as he kneels down] You had to chase them down, I assume?

It wasn't too difficult, but it did take awhile.

[They all crowd around where the Doctor kneels down.]

[asdfghjkl kitties! Saga kneels to glance at the little ones with an amused laughter.] My, congratulations on your new parenthood.

They're not mine, Saga - I just caught them.

[Chuckles.] Even so, you were born for it. [S'all teasing. He brings his hand above them playfully.] Where did you find them?

Around the coliseum. There are a few strays in the area, and one of the trainees informed me that one was pregnant.

[Cue a cautious Shiro hiding behind a Mu, peeking out at the box as though it's possessed.]

Wow, what is wrong with that box?

The box? Nothing at all. Why do you ask?

It's making funny noises. Shiro's never heard a box make noises like that before.

I see. Why not take a look at what's inside?

[ It's funny how the Plane can be big and small at the same time. Kiki had meant to return to the kitchen but funny how "kitchens" and "kittens" can sound alike and things get muddled up and it's quite easy to get derailed by fluffy kittens anyhow and-- ]

[ asdfjlks guess who smells suspiciously of sugar and milk, and has traces of flour in his unbandaged hands? Also, guess who's trying to flicker the hell out of there asap because he left something in the oven? ]

Aa-- [ Curse you KITTENS. Yeah no, cancelling that teleportation. Self consciously patting his hands on his... yes, that's an apron. ] I was working on something in the kitchen and forgot something back home!

[ Speaking of cursed critters -- ] Where'd you those kittens, Master?

Oh dear. Please don't make a mess. [He just got over Ikki's catastrophe in there.]

One of the stray cats around Sanctuary had the litter several weeks ago. Any that aren't taken here I may bring down to Rodorio to be mousers.
